Today we’d like to introduce you to Kash Dyor.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Music has been my passion since I was a young child. I started off playing the drums and then the piano and a little guitar. Music did not become a profession until much later. After I medically retired out the Army, music became a full-time job for me. I have traveled across the US and even did a tour in France last year. I do plan to go back to Europe soon. I recently did a show at Herman’s hideaway in Denver… as well as sunshine studios in Colorado Springs. I just released an album called 1806 Monetary Drive available everywhere music is sold.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are many obstacles in the music business. My main obstacle is trying to figure what is actually real and what is for show. Everything and I mean everything cost the Artist money. And most things are designed to get money out of the Artist pocket. So, finding things that actually will help my career and not just drain my pockets has been difficult.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have my own sound. I didn’t grow up around hip-hop. I grew up listening to solely gospel so the way I hear and interpret beats is different which provides me with unique melodies. I’m most proud of my time spent overseas touring.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I learned that the internet is a powerful tool. If used properly you could gain from a situation where you cannot do live shows.
