Today we’d like to introduce you to Frank Hernandez.
Hi Frank, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I am a Venezuelan immigrant, I came to the United States in 2014, I came fleeing from communism in my country, for a long time I fought against the Chavista regime without any positive progress, my country continues to be in crisis to this day, I had just finished university and with my degree in telecommunications engineering I decided to flee to the United States looking for a free country full of opportunities, for two years I dedicated myself to work to survive in anything that paid me for a job, I lived in Dallas Texas.
One day someone invited me to an interview because apparently, I had the potential to take up a professional position in a company but he did not say what, the next day I went to the address they gave me and I found myself in an office where franchisees specialized in the direct sale of kitchen items for the home.
I asked about the payment and they told me that it is a commission and the opportunity to develop your own business, I was supposed to leverage myself in a brand with more than 60 years of experience with a top quality product oriented to healthy cooking without the need to use fats or oil, not even water in some cases, I was 26 years old, I had no family, I was a full-time professional waiter, the truth is, I had nothing to lose and a lot to gain, that is what I have been doing since 2015 to date and I am extremely satisfied, I managed to open my own office in Denver, co Murray UT and Cordoba Argentina, I have learned to sell and teach to sell, I developed as a leader and I also have the ability to develop comprehensive leaders in the business field and valuable partners for the growth of my network of marketing, I have the ability to provide high quality products and lines of credit for people who want to improve their health, improve their credit or simply eat better, I am a generator of opportunities for people like me who migrate to this beautiful country with the desire to be someone important and help their family, our best year was 2021, we sold $1,301,629 with my entire team, not to mention that the United States gave me political asylum. I think it is more than I dreamed of when I made the decision to jump into the adventure of being an emigrant.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Thousands of obstacles, I graduated as an engineer, I had no idea how to sell and much less knew how to cook, the truth was I lived in my parents’ house and they did everything for me until the day I decided to emigrate, I experienced a lot of frustration and fear when learning to live without base salaries and understanding that the commission is as high as I tried, then a couple of months I already had a rhythm of sales and sharp closing techniques, I earned good money but I did not know how to manage it as much as it came in and out, it was a disaster, too I ventured into the world of associating personnel and leading them and I was also desperate because I did not learn quickly or they reacted as I would, I decided to go in parts and train myself in all my areas of weakness, I even thought of leaving everything and looking for a secure job, hahaha as if that existed, my greatest challenge was to have confidence in myself and have the discipline to study and learn new things, also the humility to ask how it is done.
Coming to Colorado was also a challenge because it led me to start from scratch in a new city without knowing anyone and it scared me a lot.
I think my biggest obstacle has been me and my mind, learning to deal with myself and negotiate with my fears, being disciplined, being my own leader and getting the best out of myself, and then being able to teach others to grow has been quite an adventure.
We’ve been impressed with J Mark Empowerment Corporation, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is in charge of distributing products for the kitchen and the home in a massive way, we are authorized distributors of Royal Prestige.
We have the ability to sell and we also develop highly trained sales teams and to our most successful we grant the distribution license so that we can grow together.
We have sales schools and leadership schools to train people who want to develop in the business world, the wonderful thing is that we do not charge for that, the truth is there is no type of initial investment to be part of our team, you will receive training and guide to develop your franchise and you set your limits and objectives.
We work together and we are a great family that grows daily with values and professional ethics.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I have been living from this for some time now and I am ready to make the leap to being a company that sells 10 million dollars a year in the next 5 years. We want to expand to other cities and countries and create independent leaders.
