Inspiring Conversations with Deicy Villaveces of deliss.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deicy Villaveces. 

Hi Deicy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Born in Colombia, trained in Spain, and a proud Colorado resident for over 13 years, I started my culinary journey in San Sebastian, Spain at the esteemed culinary school “Escuela de Cocina- Luis Irizar.” My experience includes working for Michelin-star restaurants, famous hotels, traditional Basque restaurants, and most recently, the owner and pastry chef at Ondo’s Spanish Tapas Bar in Denver, CO. I like to say, “desserts should be just as good as the main course.” The idea behind deliss. came out of my personal decision to lead a healthier lifestyle, without giving up the enjoyment that comes from sweets. So, the experimenting began… how to make sweets that aren’t loaded with white sugar and that utilize alternative flours, without sacrificing pleasure or flavor. The results are WOW, nothing short of spectacular. You will experience better flavors, moister crumb, more happiness, and zero guilt. 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. The most challenging thing for me has been getting out of the kitchen and my comfort zone. Getting out and selling my sweets, learning the ins and out of managing my social media have been the hardest things for me to do. But at the same time, it has also turned out to be the most rewarding experience. I have been able meet so many wonderful people.

deliss. is a small artisan pastry company based in Denver, CO. We believe in perfectly balanced sweets that make people feel happy, not guilty. 

Our treats are created with the best ingredients like fresh eggs & fruits, organic cacao, milled oat flour, and alternative sweeteners like monk fruit & organic coconut sugar. Every treat is gluten-free, healthy, and delicious. 

Our sweets go great as a morning/afternoon snack, as a gift to special friend, family reunions, or even for large events. We sell our product through our website- www.delisspastry.com. We require a 1-day preorder to make sure that our sweets are the freshest possible.
