Exploring Life & Business with Ann and Wendy Schott of Schott Creations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ann and Wendy Schott. 

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Wendy and I had worked for the same retail company for over 25 years each. We have always enjoyed crafting and creating. We managed many of the special gifting events in the store where we worked. We are two of 7 children all of us have our own creative style, be it music, mechanics, or creating. Our dad was very innovative creating things that solved problems and our mother was creative/crafty as well. 

Wendy and I have decided to make each day count and do what we love doing by starting a small business to create. We love to create things that help celebrate the moments in our and others’ lives. We have so many ideas! 

Our business is new we started part-time in December of last year. We have a lot to learn but we are dedicated in our efforts to be a success. We are jumping in with both feet now and making this our full-time career. 

We would love to help our clients make their moments special, personalized, and memorable. We use many mediums for our craft. We use wood, fabric, yarn, ribbon, and concrete to name a few. If you have an idea, we can help make it! If you don’t have an idea, we have plenty and we will work with you to help generate the perfect gift or piece you are looking for. 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We have experienced challenges; we have a lot to learn still and we will absorb all the knowledge we can find to make our dream prosper. We need to increase our online social experience as well, getting our social sites set up. Learn how to create a TikTok. We have found there are many resources in our community to help mentor and guide us through this building a small business process. There are many amazing people willing to offer their expertise and knowledge and to boost us in our efforts. 

As you know, we’re big fans of Schott Creations LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We create handmade gifts and products. We want to help our clients celebrate the moment. Offering several styles and mediums to customize and make the perfect gift or product to make it special. 

What are your plans for the future?
Our future plans are to continue to learn to grow to be innovative and offer the best experience to our clients. We look to grow and add more items to our online store. Next year we would like to have a mobile pop-up trailer. We specialize in personalized gifts, and custom items, and being able to connect face to face with our clients is important to us, our ultimate goal will be to have a small boutique where we can meet our clients every day, have personal interactions to ensure they receive the perfect quality product they are looking for.
