Exploring Life & Business with Emily Kaler of Lost Room Collective

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Kaler. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Lost Room Collective was built by Emily Kaler, Lily Walters, and Bella Conte. The three of us had our own personal vintage brands and met through different pop-up markets during the summer of 2021. At these markets, the three of us would share our dreams of one day owning a brick-and-mortar store when we had the idea to come together to turn our dream into a reality. We opened our first location in the Source Hotel in September of 2021. We quickly outgrew that space and needed to upgrade to something bigger, which is when we moved into our current location at 2650 Walnut street!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been smoother than we initially imagined it to be. It helps to have three people in the background working on everything. We divided our roles up based on our strengths and have gone from there. Emily is the creative director, Lily the events director, and Bella the operations director. We each bring something different to the table and that has allowed us to have a really unique way of building this business. We are all so enthusiastic and passionate about what we’re doing that we are all just happy to be here! Like I said before, this is a total dream come true for the three of us. Small bumps in the road don’t get us down because we are focused on the bigger picture 🙂

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Lost Room Collective is a women-owned vintage clothing store in Denver, Colorado. We started in September of 2021 and focus on making sustainable fashion accessible to the community. We believe that vintage and sustainability are the future of the fashion industry and we feel so lucky to be able to play a role in that shift. I believe we are set apart from others doing what we are because of the items we source. Since there are three people sourcing for the store we are able to have a huge selection with something for just about everyone. We have clothing from the 50s all the way up to the 2000s. For us, sourcing is the fun part and it’s where we are able to let our creativity shine through. We’re most proud of the response we’ve gotten from the community. We have the most amazing customers who are unbelievably supportive of us. We never expected to be welcomed into the industry so quickly. We would like your readers to know that we focus on bringing sustainable fashion to Denver. We work to keep our prices as low as we can to be sure our items are as accessible as possible. We also work to bring the highest quilty items to you. We source for hours a day to bring you the absolute best vintage clothing selection that Denver has to offer! Aside from offering a place for customers to shop we also have a rentable photo studio in our back room and open our store space up to rent for events and parties! Email us at lostroomcollective@gmail.com to host your event with us!
