Sole Seriouss started as a group of friends from high school, that shared a huge interest in sneakers. Not only was the popularity of sneakers growing while in high school; but with the creation of social media, the group of guys that began Sole Seriouss started selling sneakers on social media platforms like Facebook. There were times where we left school early or went to school late because we did not want to miss sneaker releases, especially if we had a buyer for them already. That later became us waiting outside of stores, for hours, trying to get the latest sneakers that everyone on social media was raving about.

We began realizing how many people had difficulties getting their hands on sneakers because there was a portion of the sneaker community that would wait outside of the store, just like us. We wanted to be able to supply as many sneakers as possible to those people that couldn’t get their hands on them, so we sacrificed a comfortable night’s sleep. A lot.

The more we sold, the more we bought sneakers and continued to sell. There were obstacles; however, we have been through unpredictable losses, but we have remained determined and focused on the goal of being a pinnacle in the sneaker community and have been able to persevere through the negativity. We began going to sneaker conventions and exhibitions; first as sightseers, and then shortly after that we started buying tables and bringing more shoes to sell. That has grown into Sole Seriouss owning a booth at SneakerCon, hosted by eBay convention. Alongside that, we’ve been able to network and work with other companies and social media influencers like WhatNot, JumpermanKris, Romy, eBay, and others. Not only that; we are planning on expanding our social media presence and collaborating with others.

Today, Sole Seriouss not only has a website, but it also has an app available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. There are so many different features and services available to Sole Seriouss customers, and the mobile app makes it easy to use and everything at the palm of your hand. Sole Seriouss is focused on growing and providing more than just sneakers to the world; we want to be able to provide streetwear, urban fashion, and rare collectibles of different brands and countries. One thing is for sure; we are always shooting for the stars.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road at all. Unfortunately, we have had our trials and tribulations. We’ve had inventory go missing and get stolen. There are always opportunists out there that try to run scams on the company and trying to buy inventory involving fraud. Luckily, we have been in this business for a long, that we know what red flags to look for, so we rarely have those issues now. However, opportunists will always try.

One of the biggest obstacles is having inventory that does not sell the way it was projected. That isn’t the worst scenario, but it does not feel good not getting the sales that were expected.

One of the main issues we had was storage of the sneakers we were buying. We didn’t live in the best of neighborhoods, so we wanted to avoid walking around with many bags full of sneakers in them. It went from our homes to our parents’ jobs, to a small storage unit that grew slowly, and now we have our own warehouse for all of our inventory.

Having to adapt to adversity is never easy, but it necessary, and that’s exactly what the team knew.
