Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Guan.

Hi Sydney, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been in the marketing field for several years now. After graduating from the University of Kansas, I started looking wherever I could for opportunities. Over the years, I’ve done door to door marketing for a painting service, business to business marketing for several pizza places, and finally digital marketing for everything from cannabis to automotive aftermarket parts. Each business I’ve gained experience under has taught me the value of variety and versatility, allowing me to understand an array of different niches and how to cater to each. Eventually, I decided starting Blissful Media Marketing was something that I not only wanted but was very capable of. I started this business in hopes of assisting and supporting small businesses who have not yet unlocked the marketing key to expanding and growing their business.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, starting a small marketing firm is much easier said than done. Many business owners have not quite grasped the importance of utilizing social media and digital outlets as exposure for their company. The intricacies of digital strategy runs much deeper than what is visible on the surface such as social media posts, proper Google listing placement, engaging with the community, and more. Each digital marketing method is strategically planned and may take months to perfect. Many think it is much more simple than it is and shrug off the need to hire someone who can focus on their strategy and produce profitable results. Not to mention, the digital space is ever-changing. There will always be new trends, methods, updates, and more. Keeping up with the pace of the internet is no easy task.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Blissful Media Marketing was created to cater towards smaller businesses and local cannabis businesses. I am experienced in every facet of digital marketing including website design, website development, content creation, social media management, search engine optimization, and copy write. Using the experience I’ve gained through previous employment, I want to use these strategies to help business owners give their product/service the attention it deserves. Marketing a cannabis business is no easy feat considering the red tape that most business owners are very familiar with when it comes to utilizing social media. Through the years, I’ve developed several strategies to work around these obstacles and give small cannabis businesses a fair chance to succeed in this tough climate. My ability to quickly cater to and understand any niche is one of my greatest strengths as it allows me to help a variety of businesses whether they need a website design, social media growth, or product photography that really showcases their brand in the best light.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was incredibly shy. I was constantly nose-deep in a book and could finish one per day if I was left unattended. I had a great group of friends that really pushed me to be myself without always considering how others perceived it. It took a while, but after a few years, I broke out of my shell and took part in talent shows, theatre plays, sports, and even ran for Treasurer in high school. Eventually, I was able to coast amongst the different groups which was very important as a military brat. I was constantly moving and put into new situations that required me to step out of my bubble and create a life I loved, no matter my location. I believe this is reflective in my career path as versatility is one of my strongest characteristics. I developed a love for singing, acting, painting, football, classic cars, and more. Basically, I can strike up a conversation about almost anything thanks to a variety of experiences resulting in an even larger variety of interests.
