Community Highlights: Meet Pierre Brunschwig of Helios Integrated Medicine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pierre Brunschwig.

Hi Pierre, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Helios Integrated Medicine is my baby. For 29 years, it has been a healing place for patients to find answers to their medical problems that need out of the medical box thinking and treatment. We offer a richly textured polypardigmatic approach combining Oriental Medicine, Functional Medicine, Homeopathy, Intravenous Nutrient Therapy, Nutritional Medicine, and Herbal Medicine. We spend the time to listen. We have many decades of combined experience treating problems conventional medicine struggles with. We are immersed in both the conventional medical profession and the allied alternative medical community. This allows us to crack some of the toughest medical problems.

We are now taking our success and applying it to Long COVID. While most doctors are bewildered by the complexity and diverse problems of long haulers, we are excited by this challenge. We are accustomed to both complexity and individualizing treatment plans. Colorado Covid Care is our response to the pandemic and those suffering from lasting symptoms of COVID19.

We started in 1993 and have gone through several iterations, however we have not deviated from providing comprehensive, integrated, holistic care.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenges have been related to financing and staffing. Initially, we took insurance billing and realized that we were a round peg in a square hole. We could not build a business model around insurance reimbursement. Staffing our office has been challenging at times. However, we have found that rewarding employees for their commitment to our vision has made for the most stability with the best customer service.

We’ve been impressed with Helios Integrated Medicine, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We offer care that includes preventative medicine, nutritional medicine, functional medicine, homeopathy, traditional Chinese medicine, intravenous nutrient medicine, and herbology. These approaches are blended with the soundness of conventional medicine and expert diagnostic skills to individualize care for each patient.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Adopt and pivot! We started a Post COVID clinic for those who are suffering from chronic health conditions after acute COVID19. We adapted our approach to meet the needs of these patients at a time when very little was available.
