Today we’d like to introduce you to Lange and Jamie Patrick.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We have been married for almost 29 years and are parents to five kids ranging in age from 25 to 8. Most of our adult lives have involved working in church ministry and the nonprofit world. Our middle child, Jonathan, has Down syndrome, and his birth in many ways radically altered the trajectory of our lives. While we grieved the unknowns prior to his birth, we soon began to recognize the gift his life has been and is to us and so many in our community. In addition, we adopted our youngest child from foster care, and his story has also catalyzed us into relationships with people we otherwise would have never known.
As a result of these life experiences, we continue to seek opportunities to engage with the world around us and believe we have a unique opportunity to help educate and resource our friends and neighbors with the tools to see, connect, and advocate for the “other” in their sphere. We believe the result is transformational – not only in the life of the “other” but also in the life of the one willing to engage. As real estate agents, we love helping people find their community and landing place, and we also find great joy in enabling those selling to reach their goals. We give a portion from every closing toward the launch of our nonprofit Eyes2See which will ultimately be the tool that connects our community to the often marginalized and enables what were once “categories” to become names and familiar faces with stories that long to be told to the world around them.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No – Jonathan has had multiple surgeries and a few life-threatening illnesses. He currently is on medication for pulmonary arterial hypertension – which is a disease for which there is no cure. In addition, we have at times struggled to get the resources he needs in our community to reach his full potential. With our youngest son, foster care/adoption can be riddled with challenges. In addition, the long-term effects of trauma, neglect and addiction impact his life and ours on a daily basis. We have learned how to be strong advocates as a result and believe this enhances our work in real estate and sets us apart in a challenging market.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As a couple, we are very different with regard to our giftings and strengths. As a team, though, we believe we provide a holistic approach to buying or selling. We use hyper-local market data to help inform every aspect of the transaction and have curated a process to give our clients clarity and confidence throughout the process.
Our values are:
1. See – We believe you have a story to tell, and we want to hear it.
2. Connect – We want our clients to be represented well and have the best tools and resources at their disposal.
3. Advocate – We navigate all the terms of the contract and negotiation with kindness and integrity, keeping your goals at the forefront of every conversation.
4. Win – We do whatever it takes to see you win.
We truly believe we are better together.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
We love the access to the unparalleled beauty of the mountains living in the Denver metro area provides. We also really enjoy exploring mountain towns and the local vibe each community possesses.
We wish that living here was not so expensive and remember well the sticker shock we encountered when we moved here several years ago. That only enhances our empathy and commitment to those looking to engage the real estate market.
