Life & Work with Jayson Gaddis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jayson Gaddis.

Hi Jayson, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I got tired of complaining that there is no class in school about this essential life skill of how to do relationships well.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has been a bumpy ride getting this thing off the ground because I never wanted to run a business. I just wanted to help people. So, I”ve had to learn every aspect of running a successful business. It’s been so great and so hard!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I spent thousands of hours with individuals and couples and began to see patterns over and over in relationships. I then began to experiment with solutions based on what the biggest pain points and frustrations were and I saw results. Eventually, I started a school surrounding my best tools and techniques and also wrote the definitive guide to conflict resolution.

I think what sets me apart from others is the fact that I’m a husband and father who is teaching relationship education to people. It’s often done by women and female therapists.

I’m most proud of my new book which is accessible to anyone. It’s called Getting to Zero: How to work through conflict in your high-stakes relationships.

What were you like growing up?
I was a sensitive, emotional, empathic young boy who loved nature and people. However, I overrode this nature of mine to fit in, play sports, and belong. I was a very good athlete which took me further away from the sensitive artist in me because in sports there’s very little room for that.

As a boy, in my free time I’d climb trees, daydream, and watch birds.
