Inspiring Conversations with Mallory Willis of Peak Pelvic Health

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mallory Willis.

Hi Mallory, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began working as a Pelvic PT in my hometown of Colorado Springs about 3 years ago. I realized there is a huge gap in pelvic floor education and care available, compared to where I was previously in Pittsburgh. I was struggling with balancing a busy caseload, providing quality care, implementing new treatments, and taking care of myself. I had so many ideas building on how to address the gaps, but no support or time to implement any of them.

I decided to follow my dream of owning my practice and I opened Peak Pelvic Health in August 2022. This business allows me to empower individuals with preventative knowledge about their pelvic health and provide high-quality treatment to the Colorado Springs community.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest obstacles were mental blocks and doubts. I knew this type of service was SO needed but kept doubting that I had the skills to figure out how to make it a business. I had so much support from past patients, family, and friends. I also started working with a mentor (who is a seasoned PT and business owner) and she helped me significantly get past those blocks.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
This is a specialized Physical Therapy clinic that specializes in Pelvic Health some may term “pelvic floor” issues. I want people to know they do not have to suffer from dysfunction in “that” area, that no one talks about. You do not have to live with leakage, urgency, constipation, or pelvic pain.

If you are pregnant, we can help prepare you for labor and pushing correctly during delivery. If you have had sexual or medical trauma, we can help you fully recover physically and emotionally because we are experts in treating the human body and the nervous system.

A very important value in this business to me is accessibility – you do not need insurance, or authorizations or have to wait months to see a provider at Peak Pelvic Health. You talk directly to me (Dr. Mallory) on the phone before you schedule to make sure we are the right clinic to help with your issues. We also have a close relationship with other providers (MDs, Functional Medicine, Mental Health) to collaborate with and to refer you to for holistic measures if needed.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see us hiring a few excellent Pelvic Physical Therapists to cover more of the Colorado Springs area, and collaborating with the community by doing workshops and classes. I think Pelvic Health PT as a whole is going to take off.

More and more people are realizing they do not have to suffer. More women are realizing there are specialists to support their journey through pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause. If a person is suffering and their current provider isn’t helping them, they will go and research to find out who can.
