Conversations with Jennifer Zamora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Zamora.

Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Tiny Details Photography started as a labor of love. With an extensive background in commercial photography and a past of teaching hobby photography, I attempted to take posed newborn photos of my very own new bundle of joy, just to find out that this niche photography was beyond my skills. Thankfully, I enlisted a talented, experienced photographer to capture my littles, but that experience lit a spark. I soon began photographing all my friend’s babies and begging others to allow me to do the same.

My passion grew and before I knew it I was running out of friends and family and thirsty to continue the joy of newborn photography. I decided to open a business where others would find me. After years of experience with friends and family Tiny Details Photography officially opened its doors to the public in November 2020.

Focusing on training and hands-on guidance from mentorships with other leaders in the industry like Kelly Brown, Shannon Burke, and Josie Tan really allowed me to learn the basics and practice skills. I have since had years of ongoing training and enjoy where the business is today, providing once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to capture all of your new bundle of joy’s Tiny Details so everyone can enjoy them for lifetimes to come.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’m always a half-glass-full kind of person, but I’d be lying if I said this was an easy industry. Babies can be babies and marketing is not always my favorite thing to do. But throughout the years I have learned to love the process. I love all babies, and their little cries are so cute to me now. I remember first starting out and thinking that as a baby photographer, I had to ensure that the baby don’t cry, but with experience, I know every baby is different and a one-size approach doesn’t work.

I’ve learned all the tips and tricks and have the confidence of a true baby whisper. Using my skills I can easily calm babe and capture amazing images that will last forever. Once I have the images I can’t share them with the world, which has definitely made marketing much easier too. Instead of racking my brain around marketing, I just joyfully share my work now. And I couldn’t be prouder.

Tiny Details Photography continues to grow and currently enlists assistants during sessions to help manage the sets and flow so I can focus on making Babe the most comfortable and delivering the best images possible. These passionate assistants also help manage marketing by creating social posts, editing blogs, and helping with the overall admin side of the business allowing me to focus more on what I love to do, capturing the Tiny Details.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Tiny Details Photography specializes and is exclusive to the newborn photography experience. Newborn photography is a very niche type of photography and requires extreme knowledge and care. Focusing only on newborns allows Tiny Details Photography to be a leader in this field.

With a studio catered to babies and families, everyone can be comfortable and enjoy the experience. Catering to newborns only, allows us to have a very full prop closet that is ever growing to ensure we fit your vision.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The newborn industry is everchanging. But the images captured last forever. Although styles, props, and photographers come and go, Tiny Details Photography will continue to learn and go and continue to offer the same timeless images.
