Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Hall.
Hi Brandy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Hi!! I initially moved to Denver with the intention of getting a biology degree. Within two very long years, I soon learned I’m more artistically inclined and would not survive working a job that requires 90% of my time, if not more. I grew up in chaos. I was always unsure of what was going to happen next. With that being said, I wish to live a life of my own terms and expectations. I’m a spontaneous human that does not do well with structure, so I began the search for small gigs in need of a model, event host/assistant, and even enjoy making lattes for my local Denver folk for the time being!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been an easy road. I’ve a lot of learning and growing to do, and still am even. I love it though! Learning and growing is essential. Having to financially support yourself in a city, while having to deal with issues that have been surfacing from when I was a kid, has been quite the eye opening challenge. It’s easy to burn out. When I do start to feel this way, I simply journal, or go on a hike. I even visit home at times when this happens. I would say reconnecting with my roots always grounds me again.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I occasionally model, which goes hand in hand with promoting on social media. I enjoy assisting in hosting events, and I’m a local Denver barista! I will begin on a bachelors in business in the next year as well. Modeling/promoting, hosting, and even being barista is what will help me achieve my ultimate long term goal. I hope to own a small cafe in a mountain town one day if I’m being honest. I want my cafe to be a studio as well. A studio in which local artists can utilize for their craft while enjoying my locally crafted coffee, whether it’s modeling and photography, painting, drawing, etc. I want to open up a creative space, while being able to make yummy lattes! What I’m doing now will provide me the skills, and networking I need to achieve this in the long run.
What matters most to you? Why?
My family and friends! As I mentioned before, reconnecting with my roots is what keeps me grounded, as well as a sunny day with my friends. I do feel that I am surrounded by people that genuinely care for me, and support me while I work towards a future for myself, and it’s always reciprocated!
