Inspiring Conversations with Carrie Melnick of Mile High Sign + Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Melnick. She and her team shared their story with us below:

Carrie has 11 years of experience building nightclubs, restaurants, and bars in Arizona, Colorado, and New York City. She opened over 106 locations across the three states. She worked with Chefs, Venture Capitalists, and small business owners who wanted to take a dream concept and make it a reality.

At that time, she always found the design and procurement of the signs to be overly complex and challenging. So, she decided to open her own Sign + Graphic design business to streamline and simplify the process. Businesses love working with Carrie because they get a partner invested in their business who helps them get the Sign + Graphics they need to brand and market their organization!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Yes and no. It was a scary decision to leave corporate and start my own business with a family, but I have the support of an incredible partner in crime, affiliate organization, fellow sign owners, and other small business owners who have been so helpful along the way.

My biggest struggle to date was securing the loan. No matter what you do, the bank always has a delay. Their delay pushed my opening by 6 weeks. After I got the funding I was ready to go, I just had to keep waiting on the bank.
