Today we’d like to introduce you to Kylie Sligar.
Hi Kylie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
All In Bloom Therapy is a dream that I and my friend/co-owner (Haley Lafferty) have had for over a decade. We wanted to create a therapy practice that prioritized trauma-informed care and highlighted diversity. We aim to provide a safe space for people to show up authentically, without judgment, and to receive care that is tailored uniquely to their identities and needs.
Accessible treatment and mental health education are two aspects of care that we value, thus alongside providing therapy we also provide a lot of free resources (social media posts, blogs, archive of mental health resources, etc.). All In Bloom Therapy will be 1 year old later this fall and we are so excited to keep growing and providing quality mental health care. We serve the entire state of Colorado, Texas, and all psypact states.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting and running a therapy practice is hard work. Luckily, we have had a strong support system and a community of clinicians who have lent their expertise and knowledge for us to have a successful launch.
With a core value of ours being providing accessible care we offer services via insurance, sliding scale, and private pay. Insurance can sometimes be a challenge in terms of paneling and managing claims; however, we recognize how important it is for us to work with insurance to make sure people can access affordable care.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My greatest passion is providing care for people who have experienced trauma at some point in their lives. I believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, whether that be in their environments, relationships, or even within their own body.
I specialize in trauma-informed care and utilize tools such as Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Ketamine-assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), somatic therapies, trauma-informed yoga, and mindfulness. I find it so important to include the body in therapeutic work because this is where the trauma is stored.
This is often a piece of treatment that is missing for a lot of people and makes it difficult to make progress the way that people hope for without it.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I am a huge advocate for nature being healing and often encourage my clients to get outside.
I dedicate a lot of my free time to disconnecting from the hustle of life and reconnecting with myself and my surroundings by spending time outside. I am incredibly privileged to live in a place such as Colorado that offers so much beauty and accessibility for these kinds of activities.
