Rising Stars: Meet Vitorio Nicholson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vitorio Nicholson. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Vitorio Nicholson

Growing up in Denver, Colorado, it’s easy to find creative outlets and cultured hobbies. Vitorio, also known as Vino, is no exception to the influences of the Mile High City. Vitorio has taken on the path of a modern-day Renaissance man by showcasing music, artistry, and culinary expertise.

As a kid, Vitorio was inspired and influenced by music and especially took to hip-hop. As early as 6 years old, he had a Walkman CD player and was listening to Lil Bow Wow and Jay-Z. “Hov gave me the influence and style,” Vitorio says, “and Bow Wow gave me the confidence to pursue it young.” He was often surrounded by uncles and cousins who loved to write and record rhymes so the influence was everywhere. You can hear the depth of his love for music in his style of rhyming.

Recently Vitorio has frequently collaborated with 9th Wonder’s newest Jamala Records signee “The Musalini”, on records like “Times Square Flows”, “Table Talk”, Mo Betta Blues & more, for which they have also done videos for.

Vitorio has also been working closely with DMV artist RU$H, and both just recently dropped their single “Muscat Grapes”. Currently, Vitorio has two project’s out by the title of “Textured Settings NYC” and the self-titled album “Vitorio” giving listeners a closer look into his day-to-day life and his experiences traveling on the road. For both albums, Vitorio has locked in with his in-house producers by the names of Malik Carter, Vante Miles, JT, Second Self, Don D the producer, and Decolo as they strive to create an organic sound.

When Vitorio isn’t in the studio creating music, you can find him selling out his ticket count for numerous events ranging from live shows to wine & food happenings. Vitorio owns his own wine company & vineyard with his partner Przemek Lott. The wine company is called “Vitorio?” with operations being done at Skinny P Ranch located in Strasburg, Colorado. Vitorio & Przemek also collaborate with local wine vineyard “Balistreri” on the signature Colorado Zinfandel. They both seek to merge the gap between wine and hip-hop but to also make wine a commonality among the young adults and also to give inspiration to kids and those of color wanting to potentially enter the wine industry.

You can also find Vitorio on YouTube hosting his show “Wine Wednesday with Vino,” where he indulges in discussions with women who are succeeding in their career fields. In true ladies’ man style, the interviews are done over the flow of wine, food, and live presentations. In a city and an industry where being unique is what sets you apart, Vitorio is standing on his creativity, his charm, his style, and his flow.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There haven’t been too many struggles on this journey. I’ve been the type to enjoy the journey and the challenges that come with it. We have had bad days where some of our grapes and crops have died due to the elements and weather.

There have been times we’ve paid for features to collaborate with artists and never heard from them again, differences amongst the team, etc… but at the end of the day we’re family and we push through it and these are challenges Allah has designed for us and meant for us to get through.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Truthfully, I’m a multi-creative. I make music, and wine, curate events, and also own an Assistant living business with my mother and grandfather by the name of “Loving Touch Elderly assistant care”. What we do is go around buying homes, renovating them, and making them more accessible to elderly clients who still can do the majority of things themselves but just need assistance.

I would say I’m known mainly for the music & wine. What sets me apart I feel is the world and experience I bring my fans into with my “Wine Wednesday with Vino” events and also music. At my events, fans come and get to indulge in a 4-5 course wine pairing dinner along with dessert. We typically will have a sommelier giving facts about the wine and the reasoning for the pairing. During the event, we also have live painting being done by notable artists in the community, and usually, they’ll paint on Vitorio’s wine bottle and we’ll auction off the bottle at the end. I always headline the show with a musical performance at the end but also allow local RNB artists to open up for me.

What I feel also separates me is the production and writing of my music. I feel in today’s age it’s all about quick fame and superficial music in Hip-Hop. I still show vulnerability in my music and give my fans something raw and tangible for them to relate to. I also feel the way my videos are shot sets me apart as well! My in-house videography team is two brothers from Detroit, Michigan by the names of Matt & Micheal Moloney. Their father was a photographer back in the day and taught them a lot about cameras. They specialize in film cameras like the Super 16mm and the 8mm; giving my videos a nostalgic feel to it and separating ourselves from all the artists using modern cameras and lenses.

What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is being creative and ultimately being able to provide value to what ever situation that I’m in or whoever I’m around or with.
