Rising Stars: Meet Adam Nguyen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Nguyen.

Hi Adam, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.

I am a Certified Life Coach who believes people are whole and complete as they are. I live a remarkable life today, but it didn’t start this way.

I am a gay, first-generation immigrant who grew up in a low-income household in the southern conservative state of Texas and was raised Catholic. I lost both of my parents by age 14 and honestly thought God was punishing me for being queer. As a former people pleaser, I believed I had to conform to specific expectations and standards in order to earn acceptance and feel deserving of love, particularly from others and myself. Changing for the world felt easy, but loving myself felt hard — where do I even begin? I had to sort through the darkness, my negative self-talk developed through the world’s opinion of me, and rediscover myself. I had to transform my story.

Today, I’ve traveled to 18 countries and 29 states. I am self-employed and live in a state that embraces every season. I snowboard in Winter, indulge in hot springs during Spring, hike in the Summer, and marvel at the vibrant aspens in the Fall. I live a life my younger self could only dream of!

What society labeled as a curse and something to fear – my sexuality – has revealed itself as a profound gift, becoming the force that awakened me to the true richness of life. By transforming my story first, I now help others transform theirs!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Transitioning from a highly paid-corporate job to self-employment has been quite challenging. It’s a journey that requires you to truly step into life’s arena, where the safety net of a steady paycheck is replaced with uncertainty.

In this adventure, concepts like self-love and self-confidence, which I specialize in and share on social media @iamexpansive, become indispensable. Every day brings a new experience and reminds me to be kind to myself as I navigate this journey.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m known online for spreading awareness and love globally. My content inspires others, challenges limiting mindsets, and transforms lives by awakening people to the incredible gift of life.

While I coach in various areas of life, my expertise is in helping people cultivate a deep sense of self-love. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of self-love, as it is the foundation upon which all other aspects of life are built. Healthy boundaries, fulfilling careers, and meaningful connections all stem from this essential base.

Any big plans?
I’m excited about releasing a few more workbooks and maybe even launching a course alongside my personalized coaching services. Like in life, I’m approaching it one day at a time, savoring every moment.
