Daily Inspiration: Meet Matt White

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt White.

Hi Matt, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been learning about all the cool things the cannabis plant can do for as long as I can remember. When I was a teenager growing up in the South, I used to dream of writing and photographing for High Times magazine. But cannabis was so illegal in the South, that it always just felt like a dream.

But, the South wasn’t for me, and when I moved to Denver and got into the legal cannabis industry, I saw so many cool gardens, and I was learning lots of new things about this plant and how it can help people. I wanted to find a way to share all of this with anyone who was interested, and that’s when I started my YouTube channel.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been some small struggles, but it’s been a fun journey to navigate. YouTube’s policies on cannabis-related content have always been shifting over the years, and lots of times, things didn’t feel consistent with how these rules were enforced. It was hard to tell what I could share without risking problems from YouTube.

Uploading a new video sometimes felt like a gamble because videos would get removed, strikes would hit the channel, and there was a risk of being banned completely. But, this has been happening less as more states legalize it. With federal rescheduling just announced, I’m hopeful that educational content aimed at helping responsible adults and medical patients better understand and experience cannabis won’t be as much of an issue in the near future.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
On my channel, I’m all about sharing interesting and useful cannabis information in a fun way. I like debunking myths, exploring cannabis science, covering cannabis news, and learning all about the crazy history of mankind’s relationship with this plant. It’s a spot where people can just hang out and learn everything they ever wanted to know about cannabis, making their experience with it even better.

I’m really proud that I can help people find out new things about their medicine or even help them learn to grow it themselves. When people reach out and say I answered a question for them or inspired them to start a garden; that feels amazing. I hope what sets me apart is that I try to keep it real and fun while still doing my best to share useful information that cannabis lovers can use to elevate their experiences.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters to me is providing a reliable and trustworthy source of information where people can learn the truth about this plant. This is important to me because I really believe that this plant has the potential to help certain people live a much more fulfilling life.

But, for decades, negative propaganda and lies have been spread about cannabis and anyone who chooses to use it. So, as we move into the age of legal cannabis, accurate information is more important than ever. By changing negative public opinions and focusing on scientific evidence, we can uncover this plant’s true benefits and put an end to misleading stereotypes.
