Today we’d like to introduce you to Cam Wheaton

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started playing music live when I was about 13, just playing in whatever little restaurant or bar who’d let me. Now me and my band travel the country playing our original music. It’s truly the best feeling in the world.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest struggle for me and my band was playing shows where nobody was there or listening to us. There’s still a few every once in a while but things are looking up.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m the front man of my band. We play Rock/Country music. I think what sets us apart is we’re all influenced by an array of different genres. So we have a very unique sound live. I’m most proud of how far we’ve come in the past year – with lineup changes, and other obstacles that were thrown our way.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
One of my favorites is “Walking The Floor” – Chris Shiflett. He’s a big influence of mine and I love hearing his stories and talking to the guests.
