Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Lyne Utajara
Hi Sarah Lyne, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m originally from El Paso, Texas, and initially came to Colorado just for a wedding. But at the time, I was feeling a bit lost, so I extended the trip into a month-long journey of self-discovery. I spent that time exploring Colorado’s beautiful landscapes and communities, and I made it a point to reflect on what I really wanted. Along the way, I documented my journey on TikTok, hoping to inspire others who might also be feeling lost to take the time to reconnect with themselves. That experience was transformative, turning a simple trip into a meaningful foundation for where I am today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Deciding to take time away from home to rediscover myself came with its own set of challenges. There were moments of self-doubt and loneliness, especially being away from familiar people and places. I faced the fear of the unknown and the pressure of wondering if this journey would bring me any closer to clarity. But each struggle helped me grow and pushed me to become more comfortable with uncertainty. Embracing the uncomfortable moments allowed me to find strength I didn’t know I had, and that resilience has been a guiding force along the way.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work as a graphic designer, but interestingly, I’m more known for the motivational content I share on TikTok. My platform has become a place where I encourage others to embrace self-discovery and personal growth. What I’m most proud of isn’t a particular project or piece of design work, but rather the decision to prioritize myself and pursue new hobbies and experiences that challenge me. This journey has been about pushing myself outside my comfort zone, and I hope to inspire others to do the same. I think what sets me apart is this focus on self-care and authenticity, sharing my real experiences in the hope that it helps others find their own paths.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is the freedom to explore who I am and the chance to share that journey with others. There’s something powerful in trying new things, whether it’s a hobby, a place, or a personal goal. Each experience adds a layer to my understanding of myself and gives me a deeper appreciation for life. I also find happiness in creating connections through my content; knowing that my experiences can inspire someone else to prioritize their own happiness and self-discovery is incredibly rewarding. Ultimately, it’s the combination of growth, connection, and purpose that brings me joy.
