Meet Kari Nealeigh of High End Home Sales & Freedom Multifamily Acquisitions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kari Nealeigh

Kari, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It’s been quite a journey, one that’s shaped who I am today. Back in 2007, I was a struggling single mother, facing the possibility of homelessness. My 4-month-old baby, Novi, and I came close to living in my car. It was a tough time, and while most of the challenges were mine to face alone, I was fortunate to find just enough support from a few people and communities that made all the difference. That support, even though it was limited, helped me become incredibly resourceful and taught me to find solutions, no matter the circumstances.

Through it all, Novi was my strength. He kept me going, and I knew I had to build a better life for both of us. By 2012, I was able to purchase my first home, which was a major turning point. That experience ignited a deep passion for real estate, and I decided I wanted to help others find stability and success, just as I had done.

In 2020, my personal life took a joyful turn when I met my partner, and together, we’ve built a flourishing family. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see how far we’ve come, both personally and professionally, and how much growth and hard work have shaped our lives.

As a Residential and Commercial Real Estate Agent, I’ve continued to grow my expertise. In June 2023, I achieved another significant milestone by acquiring a 128-unit apartment complex. This was a huge leap forward in my career and an example of the determination I’ve carried with me throughout my life. Along the way, I earned my Mortgage Loan Originator license in 2016, co-founded Freedom Multifamily Acquisitions, LLC, and took on leadership roles, including serving as the Denver Chapter Lead for WISE (Supporting Women Investing in Commercial Real Estate).

I’ve always found ways to give back, even if it started with my time. The support I received when I was struggling left a lasting impact, and now that I’m in a position to help others, my giving back has strengthened. I’ve been involved with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Project Angel Heart, and a Kids Ministry Leader at Flatirons Church. I also help raise and train puppies for the blind with Highlands Ranch Puppies and currently a mentor for commercial investors, aiming to lift others up, just as I was lifted when I needed it most.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my growing family, including my two dogs, Rocko the Taco and Dakota, my cat Mora, and my collection of Crested Geckos. I also enjoy painting, playing sports, and simply being present with the people I care about.

From being a single mom on the brink of homelessness to owning a multifamily apartment complex and building a successful career, my story is one of resilience, growth, and a commitment to helping others along the way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but each challenge has helped me grow stronger. The darkest moments came before I almost became homeless, when I was doing everything I could to get myself and my son to safety. The struggle wasn’t just about surviving—it was about ensuring we had stability and a better future. There’s more to that story, but it taught me invaluable lessons about resilience and the importance of resourcefulness.

There were also times early on when my job didn’t pay enough to cover the basic bills. So, I had to get creative to make things work. I went back to school, took out student loans to help pay my bills, and juggled full-time work, school, and parenting. It was tough, but I figured out a way to make it all come together.

As for my real estate journey, Commercial Real Estate actually feels like where I’m most comfortable. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset, so business and real estate just clicked for me. What scared me at first wasn’t diving into Commercial Real Estate—it was starting my real estate business. That’s where I hit a major roadblock. I had a great job at a mortgage servicing company, so making the leap to real estate was intimidating. But during the lockdown of 2020, I realized I needed a change, and that was the catalyst I needed to finally take the leap and start my real estate business.

The challenges didn’t stop there. It wasn’t easy getting my business off the ground while balancing my day job and navigating the uncertainties of the pandemic. But I knew this was the path I wanted to take, and I was determined to make it work. That leap, while scary, was the turning point that led me to where I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
High End Home Sales and Freedom Multifamily Acquisitions are two distinct but closely connected ventures that reflect my passion for real estate and helping others achieve their goals.

At High End Home Sales, I focus on serving buyers, sellers, and investors in the luxury residential market. I’m known for providing exceptional service by combining my knowledge of the real estate market with my background in design. I offer creative, strategic marketing and home staging, ensuring properties stand out in a competitive market. I believe that every home has a story, and it’s my job to help clients find the perfect fit while maximizing the value of their investment.

What sets High End Home Sales apart is the personalized, hands-on approach I offer. I pride myself on treating every client like family and providing tailored solutions that go beyond just closing deals. Whether it’s helping someone find their dream home or guiding sellers through the complexities of the market, I bring expertise and a sense of partnership to the table.

Freedom Multifamily Acquisitions is my multifamily real estate investment firm, co-owned with my sister and business partner, Maggie DeGunia. We focus on acquiring and managing multifamily properties to create long-term wealth for our investors. In June 2023, I achieved a significant milestone by acquiring a 128-unit apartment complex, and my goal with Freedom Multifamily Acquisitions is to continue growing and making thoughtful, sustainable investments.

What really sets Freedom Multifamily Acquisitions apart is my ability to find value in properties that others might overlook. I leverage my background in both real estate and mortgage lending to make sound, well-informed decisions that benefit my investors. I’m excited about the future growth of this side of my business and have some exciting plans on the horizon, which I expect to come to fruition in the next year or so.

Although my commercial real estate license is currently under High End Home Sales, I’m actively working on expanding and growing this aspect of my business. The goal is to offer comprehensive services that help both residential and commercial clients achieve their real estate goals. I’m very excited about what the future holds as I continue to grow both companies.

In both businesses, my mission remains the same—to provide expert guidance and help people make informed decisions that support their financial goals, whether in residential or commercial real estate. I’m proud of how much both brands have grown and how they allow me to give back to the community and support other women in the real estate industry.

What I want readers to know is that I’m here to provide trustworthy, hands-on support throughout the entire process, whether you’re buying, selling, or investing in real estate. No matter the challenge, I’m here to make the process as seamless and rewarding as possible.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is when the family would all get together for the holidays, spend time together, have dinner, and watch football in living room.
