Daily Inspiration: Meet Heather LeDue

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather LeDue.

Hi Heather, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a licensed stylist of almost 8 years now. I graduated from the AVEDA Institute and I had no clue what to do next! I love doing hair, but more than anything I love helping other feel beautiful.

Over the years, I took a hiatus from hair. During this hiatus I discovered a passion for leadership and education. Now, being back in the industry I enjoy incorporating those things during each appointment. I feel fulfilled when my clients learn how to love their hair at home just as much as when they leave my chair.

In 2023 I moved back home to Colorado after living in Wisconsin for 3 years. I missed hair so much, I went back to work at a blow-dry bar I worked at before I moved. My passion for the industry was reignited! Then in October of last year I became pregnant. This was a totally unexpected yet wonderful surprise in my life. I knew from that moment on, any career I had would be to provide my child with the best life possible.

My son was born in June of 2024, and I’ve never felt such love and dedication! Through him being born I rediscovered my passion for crafting hair. I had a craving for creativity that was begging to be satiated! I dove head first back into the industry, working with a stylist friend of mine named Cheyanne who taught me how to be confident behind the chair again. I then decided to rent my own suite with Solera Suites on North Broadway in Denver. It has been thrilling to push myself beyond what I thought I was capable of.

Currently, I enjoy long layered haircuts, razor cutting, and highlighting. When I’m not behind the chair, I’m snuggling my 6 month old son, laughing with my wonderful boyfriend, and spoiling our Argentinian Dogo Brutus. I also enjoy sewing, reading, and spending time outdoors.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I struggled immensely with not knowing my worth as an artist. I was my biggest obstacle for the longest time! It took consistency, willingness to fail and try again, and the love and support of those closest to me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a hair stylist for all. I specialize in long layered haircuts and highlighting services. I am known for providing a fun, collaborative, and professional experience for everyone who enters my space. I am most proud of the fact that I am able to educate my clients in a respectful way about their hair and hair needs. I don’t shy away from the truth, but I am also realistic on what fits in your budget, what works for how much time you have, etc. What sets me apart is that I combine luxury with simplicity and education. I listen to your goals, come up with a plan with you, and we work together to keep your hair healthy and happy!

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
More than anything, my family helps me stay focused, disciplined, and motivated. They are always there for me when I am tired, scared, happy, and hungry. Seriously though, I wouldn’t be who I am today without their constant support and love.
