Hidden Gems: Meet Tari Wilde & Evan Miller of Miller Wilde Real Estate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tari Wilde & Evan Miller

Hi Tari Wilde, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Evan & I met when we were both working on a development in Lake Tahoe in 2009. Originally from MN, I was getting a bit homesick being so far from my family. So after attending a friend’s wedding in Denver in September 2011, we put the wheels in motion, literally and moved to Denver. Fast forward to today, with the support of great teams, families & clients.. we have done about $400M in about 40 years combined. Evan is super detail oriented and analytical… I am more a creative, organic thinker & worker.. together we provide clients with the highest level of professional service, attention to detail & treat each deal like we are working for family. We bring a powerful combination of intelligence, integrity and experience. And fun, we love to have fun as much as we can along the way. It’s a crazy business so we try to make sure to make it enjoyable along the way.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Well the real estate industry is certainly not known for being smooth, in any way. For example, the mortgage crisis years were a real struggle for many brokers & property owners. We saw an opportunity to become fluent in Short Sales & Foreclosures when no one wanted to touch those complicated stressful deals. We became experts in those kinds of deals and had our best year ever, when many of our colleagues were getting out of the business.

Evan & I also took our time before we teamed up. When we moved to Denver, Evan worked at Slifer & I was with Kentwood. We purposefully did not want to be a team until we knew the time was right. We made sure to “practice” doing an occasional deal together as a team when it made sense for about 3 years. That way we could make sure we would still have a healthy relationship outside of work, and not get too far ahead of ourselves with the excitement of being a team. We worked out many of the process and delegation kinks many teams face, while we were still at separate companies. That way we ensured there were enough common visions, goals and ways of running our business… and grew confident that teaming up truly was the best choice for us & our clients.

We officially teamed up at Compass back in late 2019, and it was an incredible couple of years. Then, we figured, we have made a few big dreams come true for ourselves over the years, why not reach higher. The highest! So, in late 2023 we opened our very own boutique brokerage, Miller Wilde Real Estate. It has been the smartest most invigorating, inspiring, empowering thing we have ever done.

We are fortunate to have amazing clients AND collaborators across the board. From our preferred lending partners, our incredible home inspectors, our title professionals, our handy people and trades people, our staging/ design teams, photography teams… everyone of them have been with us for many, many years so we have a fluency you won’t find with all Realtors. We are blessed to work with each other, our wonderful family of clients, and the above mentioned support professionals. It is all about client happiness and success. So anyone who contributes to that end goal is a welcome member of the family!

We also know in our bones… that life is short, and home is everything. We have learned this through our own personal life experiences, and through the stories our clients share with us along the way. Especially in the pandemic, we saw first hand how important home is to people. The countless reasons for this have been there all along, but it became even more important given all the work-from-home, school-from-home, exercise-from-home, play-from-home, EVERYTHING-from-home.

Being invited on the special journeys with our clients has always been a deep and profound honor for us… but in the past few years, the increased importance of home, and our work helping people buy or sell theirs, has grown so much. And so has the joy we feel in being a part of this super important decision and process. It can be very complicated and personal and stressful… so to be a part of the journey, and more importantly, to be a part of making the journey more enjoyable and more fun has made all the difference.
