Meet Aimee Pless of Conifer Jazzercise Fitness Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aimee Pless

Hi Aimee, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Conifer Jazzercise Fitness Center has been in the area for over 20 years. During that time, we started doing annual breast cancer fundraisers benefitting Susan G. Komen foundation, after one of our instructors discovered that her aunt was battling the disease. Last year we completed our 14th fundraiser, raising over $7,000. Each year we evolve and think of things that will help raise more money than the year before, including local business sponsorships. It has become a powerful and meaningful yearly event. especially after seeing some of our very own staff and students fight breast cancer and, thankfully survive.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Our fundraiser is a big event, featuring a morning of classes, door prizes, and refreshments. Covid made having large gatherings very difficult, but in 2020 rather than cancelling, we decided to hold the fundraiser outside on the football field of our local high school. It was still a success!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Conifer Jazzercise Fitness Center?
Jazzercise is a dance-based fitness program that has been around for over 55 years. Our classes feature a combination of cardio, strength training, and stretching, with a variety of formats to suit any age and fitness level. Our studio won the Conifer Chamber of Commerce business of the year for 2024, and we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive community of women who support each other.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
When I think of things I am grateful for, my top three are consistently my family, the mountains where I live, and my studio. My staff and students are like family to me, and my life would not be as full without them in it!
