Meet Hex Hypoxia of Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hex Hypoxia.

Hi Hex , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi there! I go by Hex Hypoxia and I’ve been an alternative model and performer for many many years. Recently I started my new business “Hauntingly Familiar” which has been absolutely incredible to work on, I create spooky yet adorable shatter paintings and art pieces. It’s been really wonderful to combine my modeling and art to create work that can include both.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think most artists can say the road has been smooth at all haha. Being your own team and wearing so many hats can be quite a lot for anyone.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a full time model and performer of many years I’d say the more alternative side of things has been my focus. I’m usually working on more themed and elaborate sets and creations, which has helped with my art business. I tend to create lines which are all of a similar theme and then build a set to shoot them in to highlight that including my own costumes and characters.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Be prepared for a lot of hard work, and focus.
I wish I had known how crucial social media and trends were when I had started out, that’s definitely something I still struggle with
