Hidden Gems: Meet Zac Fabian of Wedding Video Colorado

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zac Fabian.

Hi Zac, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Wedding Videos Colorado after years of working as a freelance videographer and camera operator across different industries: documentaries, music, nonprofit work. But I kept getting pulled back into weddings. Not because they were easy, but because they were meaningful. Every couple had a different energy, a different story, and I liked being the one who could capture that in a way that felt honest and cinematic without being overproduced.

What started as a side hustle turned into a full time operation once I realized there was a real demand for high quality, story driven wedding films that didn’t feel cookie cutter. I invested in better gear, built out my workflow, and slowly started building a team I trusted. Over time, I’ve built strong relationships with planners, venues, and other creatives across Colorado.

Now, we film dozens of weddings a year all over the state, from mountaintop elopements to multi day luxury events. I’m still hands on with filming and editing, but I’ve also trained a team that shares my standards. We’re not just here to document the day — we’re here to tell a story you’ll actually want to watch back years from now.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not smooth. In the beginning, I was doing everything myself: filming, editing, emailing, marketing, bookkeeping, and trying to learn as I went. I made mistakes with pricing, overbooked myself, and sometimes worked with the wrong clients just to keep the lights on. There were times I burned out from doing too much and not having the right systems in place.

As I grew the business, one of the biggest challenges was building a team that could match the quality and care I put into my own work. Letting go of control and trusting other shooters or editors was tough at first. It took years to dial in the right training, workflows, and communication to make that sustainable.

The other challenge is the wedding industry itself. It is unpredictable, seasonal, and very relationship driven. You have to constantly adapt and maintain a reputation for reliability and quality. But over time, those struggles helped shape how I operate now. I’ve built something solid, and I’m proud of how far it has come.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Wedding Video Colorado?
Wedding Videos Colorado is a boutique wedding videography company that specializes in cinematic films with a documentary edge. We focus on storytelling that feels real and timeless. We don’t do cookie cutter edits or overly staged moments. Every wedding is approached with care, flexibility, and the goal of creating something that actually feels like you.

What sets us apart is the level of attention we give to each couple, both during the shoot and in the edit. We listen. We adapt. We stay calm under pressure. We use professional cinema gear, but we never let the gear get in the way of the experience. The final product looks polished but stays personal. That balance is something we’ve dialed in over years of working in the field.

We’re known for being reliable, easy to work with, and delivering a finished product that people want to watch again and again. We offer multiple video packages that include everything from teaser trailers to full ceremony and speech coverage, and we also offer raw footage options.

Brand wise, I’m proud that people refer us not just because of how the videos look, but because of how we made them feel. We show up, we do the job well, and we leave couples with something they’ll be glad to have for the rest of their lives.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
The easiest way to work with me is to reach out through my website and fill out the contact form. I offer a few different video packages depending on the type of coverage you’re looking for, and I always start with a personal call to make sure we’re a good fit. From there, I build a custom plan around what matters most to you.

For planners, venues, or other creatives who want to collaborate, I’m always open to partnerships that are aligned and client focused. Whether it’s a styled shoot, content creation, or vendor referral relationships, I’m down to talk as long as the values match.

If you want to support the work, following on Instagram or sharing our films with friends goes a long way. Most of our clients come through word of mouth, so every recommendation helps.
