Today we’d like to introduce you to Castle Rock Chamber.
Hi Castle Rock, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Founded in 1955, we started with a simple and very important objective to support and promote local businesses which continues to drive everything we do today. The Chamber has a long history of championing initiatives that make Castle Rock and Douglas County great. Our mission is to cultivate a thriving business community through engagement, collaboration, and advocacy. We are proudly celebrating our 70th anniversary with more than 500 members.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The Castle Rock Chamber has weathered a wide range of challenges that have tested its resilience and adaptability. From national economic downturns like the recessions in the 1980’s and 2008 financial crisis, to local impacts of rapid growth and development, the Chamber has remained a steady advocate for the business and non-profit community. Staff transitions and leadership changes over the decades have brought both fresh perspectives and occasional periods of adjustment to support small businesses to major employers. Additionally, the emergence of social media, advances in technology, evolving regulatory landscapes and hybrid work environments have required the Chamber to continually innovate its communications and services.
We’ve been impressed with Castle Rock Chamber, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Castle Rock Chamber offers robust programs and activities designed to connect, educate, and empower local businesses and community leaders. Each year, the Chamber hosts Signature Events such as the Annual Gala, Golf Classic, Sip & Savor, Douglas County Fair Parade, Artfest, and Starlighting. A host of networking opportunities and talent pipeline initiatives are offered through Business Unwind, Leads Generation Groups, grand celebrations, and more. Professional development is supported by programs including Leadership Douglas County, NextGen Young Professionals, eXcelerate, Women of Influence and Tours for Teachers. Additionally, the Chamber operates the Castle Rock Visitor Center with resources for residents, tourists, and those considering relocation to the region. Shop the Rock features local attractions, businesses, shops, restaurants, and more opportunities to explore the charm of the Town.
What sets the Castle Rock Chamber apart is its Five-Star Accreditation by the U.S Chamber of Commerce – a prestigious designation held by only two Chambers in Colorado recognized for achievement in organizational excellence. This accolade reflects our high standards in leadership, strategic planning, and member services. Our integration of the Castle Rock Chamber Foundation adds a philanthropic dimension while oversight of the Visitor Center enhances tourism – creating a multifaceted value proposition for members and the broader community.
What makes you happy?
