Hi Macadoe, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am Macadoe #PressPlayDoe.
I was born and raised on the South Side of Colorado Springs and graduated from Sierra High School in 2004.
In 2005, I helped create the Colorado Hip Hop group known as MaCaATIC Crew and we are celebrating 20 years August 1st, 2025. I am married to a very supportive wife and Alyssa and I have been together for 18 years.
I specialize in Audio & Visual communications and provide services in the Pikes Peak region. Including studio recording, video editing and event DJing.
I’ve spent the past few years actively engaging my community through the work we do as OnebodyEnt, Men of Influence and Knob Hill Urban Arts District.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
During the past 20 years with MaCaATIC Crew, I have faced many obstacles and challenges.
MaCaATIC Crew started during a time with limited help from internet resources and technology. Being an independent hip hop group, we had to navigate the market and create a brand that stood out from the rest. Raising funds to purchase our own equipment to produce videos, music and merchandise and learning the skills to operate that equipment properly, we quickly realized the return on investment was possible.
We began providing services to other hip hop artists and businesses in our market and reinvesting those earning back into MaCaATIC Crew.
As the years went by and the technology advanced, we found the need to move from a residential location, to a commercial office space. Being a hip hop group transforming into a business, we faced challenges finding a location that would work with a recording studio and the other services we provide.
After proving the property management wrong, I am proud to say we have been at our current office location for 12 years in K-Land and the business has grown beyond our own expectations.
As we continue to create, elevate and organize, I look forward to the challenges we face in the coming years.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an award winning recording artist and event DJ, a dedicated husband and a great friend to my community.
From recording, mixing and mastering music in the studio, to providing a unique event DJing experience for my clients, I love working in audio and visual communications and actively engaging my community to change and make a difference.
I am an official member of the Men of Influence and pride myself on the great work we are doing for our youth, adults and seniors.
In recent months, I have reconnected with the music producer DannyDranx. I appreciate his talents and consistency and DannyDranx has helped me with the beat production on all of my newest music releases. We have done a lot of work together, including song collaborations with artists like G-Stylez, Broken Sword, Omar G, CX, Tattoo Rob and more.
In addition, I love working alongside Affliction Music in the studio and on the stage and look forward to more collaborations with them in the near future.
I show up early, I stay late and I stay consistent in every aspect of my work. I did it for the love now I do it for a living!!
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I have learned you have to believe in yourself every step of the way and always remember:
“… you can’t spell music without us ..”
