Rising Stars: Meet Kaela Knight of Northern Colorado

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaela Knight.

Hi Kaela, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

Hi there! My name is Kaela and I am the sole owner of Knightly Nails in which I started early 2021. Wow , how time flies! Ever since I was little I knew I wanted to be apart of the Beauty industry. Luckily I had the most supportive parents and I went into cosmetology school and instantly feel in love with nails and I knew that’s the career that would truly make me happiest. I’ve met and created relationships with the best people the last 4 and a half years and I am so incredibly grateful. I absolutely love what I do, the business I’ve created and the atmosphere I’ve created for my clients!

Ever since I was little my mom would always give me dolls to play with I’d immediately want to cut their hair , give them make up / or paint their nails. I always loved beauty. I knew I wanted to go to cosmetology school and luckily I had very supportive parents who helped and believed that that’s where I’d be truly happiest. Went to cosmetology school during the peak of covid , it was a really hard time. Missed out on alot of schooling but got the hours I needed to graduate and get licensed!! I fell in love with nails when I started doing my own to pass time being stuck at home. About a year later I started Knightly Nails and 4 1/2 years later I’ve grown a full time independent business that I love and am so proud of!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Deciding to start my business was honestly the hardest part , believing enough in myself to make something from nothing. Getting clients when you don’t have the experience yet is hard to do when you start independent. I knew I didn’t want to work in a salon , that wasn’t where I’d be happiest. So I took the chance on myself. Luckily my clientele grew faster than expected therefore I got better and better at my craft!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’ve practiced ALOT to be able to specialize in hand drawn art. That’s where my creative mind feels most comfortable. I’ve gotten pretty good at replicating what’s brought to me and I love doing all the new trending designs , staying educated on forever changing trends is what I love. As well as being challenged. It keeps my every day different and exciting. I also focus heavily on natural nail health. Offering Gel-x and Structured gel like luminary helps my clients and I achieve that!
