Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacke Golomski.
Hi Jacke, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my nail career 25 years ago at an upscale hair salon in the suburbs of Milwaukee, WI, where I built a wonderful clientele over 13 years. In 2013, my family and I moved to Castle Pines, CO, and I set up a mini nail studio in our basement.
In 2021, we relocated to Kansas City for my husband’s job, and I returned to working in a salon—this time at Paint Nail Bar. Three years later, his job brought us back to Colorado, and shortly after, Sola Salons reached out to me about renting a studio at their new Castle Rock Outlets location.
The moment I saw the space, I was hooked. It was a leap of faith—I had no established clientele here, aside from a few friends—but I knew it was the right move. I’ve always dreamed of having the freedom to set my own schedule and create my own space.
In October 2024, I opened The Nail Room at Sola Salons. Now, almost 10 months later, I’m proud to say I have a full clientele. This journey has been incredibly fulfilling, fun, and rewarding.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I feel very blessed to have had such a strong start in my journey as a nail technician. I had a fantastic mentor, and the salon where I began was incredibly supportive—they truly wanted me to succeed.
The biggest challenge came when we moved back to Colorado in 2024. I struggled to find the right salon fit. I tried three different salons, but none of them felt quite right, and I started to wonder, “Is it me?”
Then Sola Salons reached out, and the moment I walked into their space, I knew—this is where I was meant to be all along.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve been doing regular polish manicures and pedicures for years, but now I primarily work with gel polish. The main service I specialize in is sculpted gel—also known as hard gel. It’s my favorite service and makes up the majority of my work at The Nail Room.
When hard gel was introduced about 20 years ago, I transitioned all of my acrylic clients to sculpted gel. Since then, it’s been a core part of my practice. Sculpted gel isn’t commonly offered by many nail technicians, which helps set me apart in the industry.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
When I first opened last October, I was eager to build my clientele. I joined every local Facebook group I could and consistently advertised each week. Gradually, my schedule began to fill up. The other renters at Sola were also incredibly supportive, referring some of their clients to me, which really helped me grow my book of business.
