Taylor Gudeahn shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Taylor, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Being in nature makes me lose all sense of time in the best way. Whether it’s the sound of water, the feel of the wind, or the way light filters through trees, I find myself fully present and inspired. In those moments, I reconnect with my creativity and with myself, letting the world around me guide my thoughts, ideas and creative sparks.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Taylor, the artist and owner behind T & Honey Tattoo Club, a private self care sanctuary and tattoo studio in Englewood, Colorado. I specialize in illustrative and neo-traditional tattoos with a focus on florals, botanicals, whimsical details, and a touch of magic. My work is deeply inspired by nature, storytelling, and the beauty in life’s little oddities.
T & Honey isn’t just a place to get tattooed it’s a creative community space. We host events like flash days, art workshops, and vendor markets that bring artists, makers, and clients together. My goal is to create an environment where people feel comfortable, inspired, and seen, whether they’re here for a tattoo, an event, or simply to connect with like-minded souls.
Right now, I’m working on growing my portfolio with more color work, honing in on my skills and planning a 2025 calendar full of interactive events that blend art, self-expression, and community.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
In Denver, I think the abundance of opportunities and the constant movement of people can sometimes work against genuine connections. It’s easy for someone to walk away when they know there are hundreds of other potential friends or circles they could step into. That abundance can make bonds feel more replaceable.
Restoring those bonds, for me, comes down to communication, understanding, and mutual commitment. It’s about being in spaces where you’re valued and appreciated, and not forcing yourself into places that don’t align with who you are. Love, empathy, and honest conversations are what truly rebuild trust and connection.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell her, “These waves of hard times don’t last, so don’t hold on to them. Keep your head high, stay true to your fire, and know that this sassy, determined little girl will grow up to achieve every dream she’s chasing.”
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the tattoo industry is that it’s all creative freedom and effortless success. In reality, it’s a demanding career that takes long hours, constant self-marketing, and a lot of behind-the-scenes work people never see. There’s also this idea that you have to fit into a certain style or crowd to be taken seriously, when the truth is, staying authentic to yourself and your art is what truly builds a lasting career.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m absolutely doing what I was born to do using art to help people feel comfortable and confident in their own skin, giving them something meaningful they can carry forever. I’ve built a community for people who might not have one, and a space where anyone can simply be themselves without judgment.
I’ve pursued other dream careers before, but my soul was never truly satisfied. Creating art is different it’s in my bones, in my breath, in the way I see the world. It’s something I was born to do, and I’m deeply grateful that I get to live it every single day.
