We recently had the chance to connect with Gerald Bray and have shared our conversation below.
Gerald, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
As of late I have been called back into the music industry, I wouldn’t say I was afraid to get back into it , maybe hesitant at first bc it comes with a tremendous amount of work , but now that im back we are doing some amazing work.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Gerald Bray, or known as Boss Bray . I am the ceo of multiple companies such as ICMG illuminated concepts music group , Neons Salon and barbershop , Medusa BEARD OIL Co. and i also own an event coordinating company. Needless to say I have a ton going on . We are currently running shows with our signed artists such as shadow boy, prophet and LG mack. Im organizing an upcoming Halloween event for Fear Complex Haunted House for the 2025 season . We are in the process of launching medusa beard oil into an E-commerce and we just finished a tremendous event from neons Salon and Barbershop called Haircuts for Heroes , where we raised funds for Honor Flight of Southern Colorado with Exp military network.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
There are 2 versions of me , one is the big scary tattooed guy who will take on the world , the other is the business owner who is poised and full of answers for everyone’s problems . Im learning to release the scary guy and give him a purpose on a microphone to make music .
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
Just recently when I got back in the studio tbh . Im now using my pain to make relatable music that I hope can touch someone’s heart and let them know they aren’t the only one who struggles with pain . One of my upcoming tracks is called reflect which is a song about the old me vs the new me and reflecting on the pain . Another track coming out soon is called Runaway, which is a song about a child not running away from home but running away from the pain in his home instead . Many runaways run from the hurt and pain , not the home.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I’d say Yes , most definitely. Who you see is who you get . I live my life as an open book . There are not enough real ones anymore , everything is a front or a lie . I choose to be the real me on or off social media

I hope the story told about me when im go e is how great of a family man I was and how much i gave back to my community . Both of those are the nearest and dearest to my heart .
