Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Miranda Grubb of Denver

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Miranda Grubb. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Miranda, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Travel is always one of my favorite sources of joy. I’m passionate about my work and other hobbies but travel truly surpasses everything else. Any chance I get to go anywhere, I go (I typically prefer to leave the country). For me, travel has allowed me to find myself on a whole other level and opened so many doors I didn’t expect. Nothing has changed me like the experiences I have when being immersed in another culture.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Miranda Grubb, owner and founder of Rōz Event Planning. I’ve been in the event industry for over a decade, but Rōz was born from something deeper than just experience — it came from a real love of gathering people with full authenticity. I don’t just plan events; I create intentional moments that reflect stories, not formulas.

Rōz (pronounced “rose”) is inspired by the word “rise” — the spelling is a nod to my Portuguese roots and my belief that events should elevate everything: connection, creativity, and community. I specialize in non-wedding events — from brand launches to intimate social parties, milestone moments to creative retreats — and I work closely with clients to bring their vision to life while keeping the process grounded but enjoyable.

No over-the-top production just for the sake of it. I care more about the energy in the room, the feeling people leave with, and making sure it all feels like you.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My parents are the epitome of hard work and self belief and are the ones who shaped the way I work.
Both of my parents actually come from long lines of ancestral entrepreneurship but they had their share of “9 to 5s”.
When I was about five years old my dad made the decision to leave his very successful corporate job in the car industry to chase his own dreams. My mom then had to be okay with a major shift and throw herself into the business as well and sacrifice some comfort and time. It has been about 26 years since they took that leap and they have not looked back. They have had many evolutions, ups, and very low downs but they never gave into societal norms or doubts. Though we work in extremely different industries, they have always shown me how to work on my terms and staying true to myself and my morals.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
People have asked me many times if I ever felt or feel like giving up . The answer is …don’t we all? I think I feel this on a monthly sometimes even weekly basis. It’s ok to feel that way but only as long as you use it as fuel. Being a true entrepreneur means there’s never really too long of a period of “smooth sailing” as this is truly a forever journey. I will never give up on my dreams but that doesn’t mean they won’t evolve. For me thinking of giving up is the universe/God/Creator testing me and giving me space to reevaluate where I am currently and how I can grow. I think anyone who says they never felt a minute of doubt or failure is a liar.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
What you see is what you get with me on all levels. Who I am on socials is who I am always. Who I am during events is actually a much more calm, collected, and patient me versus me in my personal life though. When I am immersed in work I typically am a better version of myself. I’m very emotional, an overthinker, am constantly late to things, scared of everything, and a total potty mouth in my personal life. At work, all of those “flaws” are subdued and I tend to think clearer when making urgent decisions. It’s like some magic switch that only my work knows how to access. Nevertheless, I am always authentic and my core values never waver.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
People like to ask if I have regrets or if I foresee having them. Never. Never do I have regrets or think I will. My life is playing out exactly how it was meant to. It’s not all rainbows and butterflies but that is just life. If I were to change any small moment, my entire life could have been dramatically different. I do however learn from shortcomings and see how I can find growth in everything. I live on my terms and that’s exactly how my creator intended it to be. As long as I stay truly authentic, I have zero worries.
