Caroline, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, what’s bringing me so much joy outside of work is the quiet moments I get to spend with my daughter, watching her learn something new every day. Whether it’s her giggles during a walk in the Colorado sunshine or the look on her face when she’s concentrating or figuring something new out, those moments light me up. As a new mom running a solar business and building SolarMama.net, life can feel full-on, but these simple interactions ground me and remind me to stay connected to what matters. They also fuel my drive to create a cleaner, brighter future, not just for my family, but for everyone.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I created SolarMama.net and relaunched my YouTube channel as spaces to document this chapter of my life, navigating new motherhood, running a solar business, and pursuing a more sustainable way of living. These platforms are where I share practical insights, personal stories, and honest conversations about clean energy, entrepreneurship, and integrating it all. It’s a growing community for people who care about impact, connection, and living with purpose.
I’m the co-owner of Solar All Over, a Colorado-based solar company dedicated to making clean energy simple, approachable, and accessible. My path here wasn’t a straight line. I began my career as a marriage and family therapist, earning a doctorate and helping people work through life’s challenges. It was meaningful work, but over time, I felt pulled toward something new. That led me to entrepreneurship, first through wellness coaching and consulting, which taught me how to listen, build relationships, and solve problems creatively.
Life took a turn when I moved to Colorado and met my husband, who founded Solar All Over. His passion for solar energy caught my attention, and before long, I was behind the scenes improving our operations, marketing, and partnerships. I discovered a real love for the work, not just the technology, but the opportunity to help people make a positive, lasting change. Today, as a full partner, I’ve helped shape Solar All Over into a comprehensive provider offering custom solar systems, flexible financing, maintenance services, and even business development support for other solar companies.
What sets us apart is simple: we lead with honesty, care, and relationships. In an industry where trust matters, we prioritize transparency and deliver on our promises, backed by 25-year warranties and a commitment to every project we take on. Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a kid completely absorbed in my imagination, spending hours designing dream homes on The Sims. I’d carefully arrange every room, choosing the colors, the light, and imagining the lives that might unfold there. It wasn’t about perfection, it was about creating spaces where people could belong and thrive.
At the time, I didn’t know what psychology was, or that I’d one day become an entrepreneur in the solar industry. But looking back, those hours spent creating and problem-solving on a screen were about more than play. They reflected a part of me that valued design, connection, and possibility. That’s still what drives me today, whether it’s helping families transition to clean energy, building a business with my husband, or navigating motherhood while pursuing meaningful work.
Answering this question reminds me that, underneath every role I’ve held, that same creative, thoughtful girl has always been there, and it’s her perspective that’s shaped how I lead, how I connect, and what I care about most.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me the value of letting go and trusting myself in ways success never could. Early in my career as a marriage and family therapist, I poured everything into helping others navigate their struggles, but I didn’t see my own burnout creeping in. It was a dark time, I felt drained, questioning my purpose and whether I could keep going. That low point forced me to step back, reassess, and take a leap into entrepreneurship, which eventually led me to Solar All Over and SolarMama.net. Suffering stripped away the idea that I had to follow a linear path or be perfect. It taught me to embrace change, listen to my instincts, and find strength in rebuilding. Now, when I’m designing solar solutions for a family or sharing my journey as a new mom, I carry that lesson: the hardest moments shape us, not to break us, but to help us grow into who we’re meant to be.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to making clean energy a reality for every family and business, no matter how long it takes. Growing up, I dreamed of creating spaces where people could thrive, and today, that vision lives in my work with Solar All Over and SolarMama.net. I believe solar isn’t just about panels or savings, it’s about empowering people to live sustainably and take control of their future. As a new mom, I think about the world my daughter will inherit, and that fuels my drive to keep pushing for accessible, transparent solar solutions. Whether it’s designing a system for a homeowner, mentoring another solar business, or sharing tips on my YouTube channel, every step is part of building a cleaner, brighter world. It’s a big goal, and there are challenges, misconceptions about solar, economic hurdles, but I’m in it for the long haul, because every family that goes solar is a win for our planet and our kids.

I hope people will say I made the world a little brighter, both literally and in the way I showed up for others. I’d love for people to remember the community I built through SolarMama.net as a place where sustainability felt accessible, where people found encouragement to live with purpose and pursue their own dreams.
As a mom, I hope my daughter hears stories of how I worked to leave her a healthier planet and proved that building a meaningful career and showing up for family aren’t opposing choices, they can exist side by side. And if people say I was kind, persistent, and someone who turned ideas into tangible, lasting impact, that’s a legacy I’d be proud to leave behind.
