Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Brittany Osborne

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Brittany Osborne. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Brittany, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: When have you felt most loved—and did you believe you deserved it?
Every love I’ve experienced, I’ve questioned in some way, except the love I receive from my kids. Their love is pure, unconditional, and it sees me exactly as I am. I’ve never felt more loved than I do by them. I don’t always feel like I deserve it. I’ll probably never truly feel like enough, but the way they love me without hesitation, reminds me that their love isn’t about me being perfect, it’s about me being their mom.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Brittany. I’m an esthetician and the owner of Studio Skin in Arvada. My studio is a space where clients can feel safe, never judged, and always cared for. What makes it special is the connection. I work one-on-one with each client, providing facials that combine both pampering and customized, results-driven treatments. I get to work with people through meaningful life moments while helping them feel more confident in their own skin. For me, success isn’t about numbers, it’s about impact. I see my clients as whole people, not just their skin. Often, our skin reflects what’s happening emotionally, hormonally, through diet, stress, genetics, lifestyle habits…I take it all into account when helping my clients.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Wow. This question made me emotional because I don’t know that I ever truly felt seen. For a long time, I felt alone and always trying to be enough…. often settling, while pushing away those who might have recognized my worth. I’ve learned that being fully seen often doesn’t happen until you see yourself, because the way you see yourself shapes everything. Recognition from others is meaningful, but self-awareness and self-acceptance are what allow it to truly matter.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
These questions are deep! Have you guys been listening to my life? Ha! The defining wounds in my life has been being betrayed and blindsided by the people I loved most… left feeling alone, questioning whether any relationship was real, or if I was loved only for what I gave. I always felt like I wasn’t enough and easily disposable. Healing has been a process. I’ve learned that what others do isn’t about my worth. A big part of my healing has been forgiving both myself for what I tolerated, and those who hurt me. Knowing your worth and being happy with yourself makes everything else just noise. Trusting your gut, recognizing your patterns, and breaking them is how growth happens. Know what you won’t tolerate and then don’t budge. It is so healing to learn you can trust yourself and your decisions. And that you can trust others! Not everyone is bad. If they turn out to be, well, now I have another lesson and more strength. I now know I won’t break.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Oh, I have so many lies to call out in the skincare industry. I could probably go on all day.

The idea that more expensive means better is just not true. Sure, some unique ingredients cost more, but price alone doesn’t guarantee results. Product claims are unregulated. Expensive doesn’t always equal effective.

Then there’s the whole “natural is better” lie. Clean beauty is great in theory, but some natural lines cause more irritation and allergies than others. Safety depends on the skin it’s being applied to, the concentration of ingredients, and the delivery system. Natural doesn’t automatically mean safe.

The industry also loves promoting new miracle products. I promise, there’s never going to be a single miracle serum that will fix everything. Healthy skin is a combination of sleep, stress management, hormones, emotions, lifestyle and then your homecare. One magical product won’t cover it all.

More is better is another lie. You don’t need a 10-step routine to have healthy skin. Overloading products can actually be harmful. It has become ridiculous and usually about sales/money. I don’t think layering 5, 6 serums is ever necessary.

And the lie that bothers me most? The fear of aging. Aging is a privilege and beautiful! Why would anyone want to look 20 at 50? I want to help people look like healthy, confident, authentic versions of themselves at any age. Many people actually look better as they age naturally because they’re comfortable in their skin and living authentically- it shows, and it shines. The goal should be to look healthy at your age and take care of yourself to age gracefully, not stop/prevent aging.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Wow. These questions! My goodness. The first thing that comes to mind is loneliness. I’ve had periods in my life where I was truly, completely alone- years without talking to family or friends. It’s a hard place to be, and not many people understand what that feels like, but I know it exists, and I understand it. I think acknowledging it’s something that shaped you but taught resilience, and ultimately deepens your capacity to connect when the right people come into your life.
