Mariah Medina’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Mariah Medina. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Mariah, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
The Denver Broncos bring me joy and I love to watch football every week. I am excited the new season is starting up again!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Mariah Medina, and I’m the owner of MAM Photography, which I started back in 2018. Photography has always been more than just a career for me, it’s a way of telling stories, capturing emotions, and creating lasting memories for people to look back on for years to come. Over the years, I’ve captured everything from portraits to events, always striving to create striking, high-quality images that balance creativity with precision. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals, families, and organizations, each giving me the chance to see the world through a different lens. Right now, I’m continuing to grow MAM Photography by expanding into new creative projects that allow me to combine my love for storytelling, art, and community.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
To me, bonds can break when people stop really seeing each other. Life gets busy, distractions pile up, and connection fades. What restores them is slowing down and being present. Whether that’s through conversation, shared experiences, or even art. Photography, for example, has the power to remind us of what we might overlook and bring people back to a place of connection.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most is change. I tend to feel comfortable in what I know, and stepping into the unknown can feel overwhelming. But I’ve realized that growth, both personally and artistically, often comes from those moments of uncertainty.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
A truth I hold onto is that art matters. It helps us process, reflect, and connect in ways words can’t. It’s so ingrained in how I live and create that I rarely ever put it into words.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand deeply that people often overlook the small details around them. The way light hits a surface, the expressions that pass by in a second, the little things that make life beautiful. They’re easy to miss. Photography has taught me how much meaning exists in those details.
