Lena Veunnasack shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Lena, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
For me, energy is the most important because it influences everything else. As a licensed esthetician and human being, I know how powerful energy transfer is — the way we show up, the way we connect, and the way we treat others all affect someone’s well-being, both inside and out. When my energy is grounded, compassionate, and uplifting, it creates a safe space for my clients to relax, trust, and truly feel cared for.
I also believe that intelligence and integrity naturally flow into the kind of energy you carry. With integrity, it shapes how I honor my work and the people around me, while intelligence helps me to continue growing and serving at my highest capacity. Together, they fuel the energy that leaves a lasting impact.
Most importantly, I find that energy is contagious. The positivity, peace, and confidence I cultivate within myself flows into my clients and community — and that exchange is what contributes to both my personal well-being and my professional success. At the end of the day, people may not always remember every word you say, but they will always remember how your energy made them feel. Which is a result of them coming back.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I entered the esthetics industry in 2021 after earning my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Human Resources Management, and today I’m a licensed esthetician with multiple certifications based in Aurora, inside the back of Obsessed Salon. ✨
Through LenaVe Lovely Luxuries, I offer a range of services designed to enhance natural beauty and improve skin health — from facials, back facials, and targeted treatments to waxing, lash extensions, and permanent makeup techniques like nano-brows, ombré brows, eyeliner, and lip blush. Every treatment is customized through a detailed consultation so my clients feel cared for, confident, and radiant.
What makes my brand unique is the heart behind it: my motto, “Be kind to yourself — be you, not them.” My work is more than beauty; it’s about helping clients embrace self-love, self-worth, and self-care. I believe beauty doesn’t define your value, but prioritizing yourself creates an inner strength that shines outward. My services are a reminder to slow down, recharge, and never pour from an empty cup.
Currently, I’m excited to be stepping into a new chapter — transitioning from being fully self-employed to building a team, with guidance from my mentors at Obsessed Salon & Obsessed Head Spa. My vision is to expand beyond services and grow LenaVe Lovely Luxuries into a brand that continues to empower people inside and out.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What breaks bonds between people, I believe, is a lack of respect and consistency. In both life and business, I’ve learned that when boundaries or agreements aren’t honored, trust naturally begins to fade. As a licensed esthetician, I hold policies not just for myself, but to be fair to every client. If I break a rule for one person, I would have to do it for everyone, and that ultimately weakens the trust I’ve built within my business.
As for restoring bonds, I’ve come to see that it’s not always possible to return to how things were before. When clients ask to come back after crossing those boundaries, I do my best to gently redirect them to another artist who may be a better fit for their needs. That way, I can release the situation with kindness rather than resentment. Bonds that last are the ones built on mutual respect — and those are the relationships I nurture with care.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Dear Younger Me,
I know you’ve carried a lot on your shoulders — being the oldest and a first-generation child meant you often had to figure things out on your own, learning lessons your parents hadn’t yet experienced themselves. You put so much pressure on yourself to do everything right, to meet expectations, and to make everyone proud. I want you to know that it’s okay to release some of that weight.
You don’t have to have it all figured out or be perfect. Taking care of yourself — mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially — isn’t selfish; it’s necessary. You are learning now that you can’t pour from an empty cup, and that’s one of the most important lessons you’ll ever carry. Be gentle with yourself, trust your path, and know that prioritizing your own well-being will allow you to show up fully for the people and dreams that truly matter.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Expensive treatments guarantee results faster” is a myth I’ve experienced firsthand. I once invested nearly $5,000 into a year-long skincare plan, yet I saw little to no improvement. Part of the problem was that I was seeing a different provider each visit — without consistency, treatments couldn’t be tailored to my skin, and real results were never achieved. It became clear that some providers were more focused on profit than progress.
This experience became a major lesson for me as an esthetician: seeing the same provider consistently, combined with expertise, personalized care, and genuine guidance, is what truly drives results. That philosophy guides everything I do — building trust with my clients while offering services that are effective, transparent, and accessible. Even as I gradually raise my prices, my clients stay because they know the quality and care I provide make a real difference.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I think my clients would miss more than just the services I provide — they’d miss the relationship and connection we’ve built over time. Being a service provider is more than treatments; it’s about growing alongside my clients, celebrating milestones, and being someone they trust and feel comfortable with. Every appointment is like therapy for them: a safe, personalized space where they feel seen, cared for, and valued. Over the years, I’ve been included in birthdays, weddings, family events, and even personal achievements — moments that go far beyond the chair. That bond is something unique, and while a replacement could provide services, the personal connection and care I give can’t truly be replicated. Leaving that behind would be bittersweet, because it’s not just about the work I do — it’s about the friendships and trust I’ve nurtured.
