Amelie Bauer of Boulder on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Amelie Bauer shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Amelie, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
Of course! Taking the time to think things over can be so rewarding. Especially when the urge to act takes over. Sometimes the best decisions are made slow.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a local Boulder author! I grew up in Golden and recently graduated CU Boulder with BAs in Economics and International Affairs. I started writing as a way to feel, process, and enjoy my emotions. Telling a story feels like a calling to me. Especially telling an intentional and life story.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My partner Miles—he always seems to perfectly explain parts of me that I didn’t know existed (but then with his words I realize they do) or help me find my truth within myself.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
It will all be okay! Life is exactly what you think it to be.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
My current boss. He has a notable reputation but it does not precede him. He is someone who cares deeply about everyone around them and will do what he can to be kind, help and care for others. It’s a character that feels rare for a person with some power, but he lives it to his truth and it’s a wonderful thing to witness.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
In a moment of solitude and awareness. Realizing that where I am in the moment is special and if I have the means to reflect on it, being able to embrace its emotion.
