Charlie , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Since I’ve stepped away from doing clients – I’m normally in some phase of production on numerous photo shoots. I’m also enjoying having time to look after my home and tend to our flower garden.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I do hair, makeup, fashion styling production and photography – all things that I love about the world of fashion and beauty.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
Horst the founder of Aveda and environmentalist taught me how much a hairdresser can do in the world besides just fluffing hair. He also said many times that if you stick to what you love the money will follow. That has proven to be true although there is never enough money chasing me lol.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
I have lived a life that has not been defined by fear. I feel very lucky that I can say that.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I am the same person whether I’m on a reality show or- at a fashion show or behind the scenes at a photo shoot. For better or worse lol.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope clients will remember me fondly – that hairdressers cherish something I’ve taught them and think of me with a smile when they use it and that I leave a trail of beautiful imagery behind.
