We recently had the chance to connect with Cassandra Chacon and have shared our conversation below.
Cassandra, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Spending time with my friends, and my puppy’s. I’ve gone through a lot of friends groups. I think I finally found a good group. Who just lets me be me and excepts me for me.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Cassie. I have been doing nails for 13 years. I recently just opened my own nail studio. It’s been two years and it’s been an amazing ride. I focus on natural nails. I provide a clean environment. I make sure all my tools go above and beyond what the state requires. I love making people feel good about themselves.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I would say my best friend. She’s been there day one since I started this journey. She keep encouraging me and making me realize all that I have been through in my career has got me ready for this new journey.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Oh yeah! I don’t think opening a business is easy. It comes with so much! You have no idea what you’re going to get yourself into. There were days where I had no clients and really thought I couldn’t make it.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They would say my family, my dogs and my friends mean the most to me. At the end of the day you can have everything in your life. But that’s doesn’t matter if you don’t have anyone in your corner.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Stop caring what people think. Just live your life. If it makes you happy go for it. Who cares what people have to say.
