Ethan , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately I’ve been drawing a lot more. With the stress of the business I’ve found peace in being creative. I used to draw and paint when I was younger and life made me believe I didn’t have the time to be creative. Lately I’ve discovered that to be completely false!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello I’m Ethan Browningg the owner of Groovy Junk removal. We are a very local Aurora community dedicated to serving the Aurora Colorado area. We specialize in our flexibility and professionalism. It’s or 4th year in business and we’re only getting better.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a very creative imaginative child who wanted to explore and discover everything.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Take more risk you’ll be alright.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
A lot of new junk haulers feel pressured to be the cheapest option to attract customers. However, the key to building a successful business isn’t the lowest price, it’s providing amazing value, being kind and professional. Most customers are not looking for the cheapest work; they’re looking for a friendly, reliable, professional crew they can trust.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
They would miss the ability to contact us easily through text or email and get quick hands free service. I’ve had customers message us Tuesday afternoon and we’ve gotten their problems solved before the end of the morning Wednesday. This common with our regular customers.
