Chandra Martinez shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Chandra, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
But first…COFFEE! Just kidding, kind of…
I wake up around 6:30 and try to get my brain coordinated for how the day will look. Every day is a little different in Real Estate, so I am a stickler about making sure everything is in my calendar and reminding me where I need to be and when.
And yes, coffee happens immediately.
Then I get my son up and out the door for school.
I then make sure there is some time dedicated to a mindful morning. I make sure to have a moment of gratitude and write down 3 things I’m grateful for, and prep for the morning and whatever is happening that day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Chandra Martinez. I am a real estate agent. I coown a team called Homes of NoCo Group.
We are part of a bigger expansion team and have teams in place in CO Springs, El Paso, Texas and Orlando, FL currently. We are working on other locations as well, which is really exciting.
We truly believe everyone deserves a place to call home. We work really hard to make a transaction feel special but also seamless, and if your price point is $100k or $1M, it’s still the biggest transaction of your life and you deserve to be treated with consideration and care.
We also believe that about our agents, and I think being a part of us as a team means that you have support and a family. I really think we have some of the best agents in the business guiding other newer agents to be the best agents in the business.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Trust
Breaking anyone’s trust is going to damage any relationship. Being a person that does what they say, and being honest and transparent is really important.
I dont know if that is something that is repairable? I guess restoring a relationship requires that desire from both parties first and foremost. Then it requires whoever broke that trust to somehow be trustworthy again….that’s a steep hill to climb.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I’m in real estate, this is a loaded question and I want to say quite often lol
No, really. This job is really hard some days. I think when the market is tough, and sometimes fails or rough deals hit all at once, it does make you question your career choices.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. Unfortunately sometimes.
I’m a ‘take me as I am’ kinda girl. I’m real. I can be snarky, I accidentally have RBF all the time, you do get the real me on social media and in public.
One thing that doesn’t come through is that I’m actually kind of shy. It takes a minute for me to warm up, especially in a larger crowd. And I’m probably more introverted than most Agents. I like to observe the situation and feel it out a minute first. People do tell me they don’t see that, but absolutely what you see is what you get.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
I actually am! I truly love my job, and I’ve taken on some exciting projects lately that have my mind spinning late at night with ideas.
This is a job that is sometimes tough, but the end game is truly rewarding. The tears of happiness at the closing table, watching a little girl plan the paint color in her new bedroom…there’s so much emotion and it’s just awesome.
