Hi Nick, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
“Clink, clink, clink…” the old boiler exclaimed as the flames inside of its rusty chamber died down. It had served this antique victorian home faithfully for the last sixty years but today it had drawn its last breath. The machine was ancient by modern standards but had kept generations of caretakers safe from winter’s frosty breath. Unfortunately, it was time for an upgrade to bring this grand home into the modern era. That, is where I come in. My name is Nick Ingel with NCI Heating and Cooling. For years I have been faced with situations like this and striven to produce educated long term solutions tailored to meet the individual needs of each home and its occupants. With so many options available in terms of efficiency, longevity, and comfort, it has never been more important to take the time to fully understand the needs of each individual. As a small family run business, we pride ourselves on our willingness to explore these needs and exceed expectations at every turn. Whether it is repair or replacement, our highly trained technicians will always find the solution for you!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
From apprenticeship to ownership, the road is not always smooth but with the right attitude it can always be bright! The heating and cooling industry is constantly evolving and thus, we must evolve right along with it! Energy efficiency standards, mechanical code requirements, and environmental protection stipulations are just a few of the challenges that we face in an ever changing world. Continued commitment to excellence and education is the key to staying ahead of the curve and ensuring our team delivers comprehensive solutions to meet the needs of our community.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
There are so many fantastic resources available, it is hard to choose just a few! As far as trade specific books I am a huge fan of Dan Holohan! He is the author of works such as “The Lost Art of Steam Heating” and “Pumping Away” which are largely considered the industry standard of reference material for residential hydronic and steam heating systems. I highly recommend them for not only HVAC Technicians interested in expanding their knowledge, but also homeowners seeking to gain a better understanding of the homes they have been tasked with caring for!
