We’re looking forward to introducing you to Geraldine Convento CSM. Check out our conversation below.
Geraldine, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I meet one-on-one with each of my teammates quarterly. During this meeting, I ask a series of questions from how are your goals coming along this year to how can we improve processes to help you perform your position efficiently. Outside of this I always ask if there is anything that they do that is their least favorite, if they mention something the task gets redirected to someone it’s better suited. I also ask them what they would like to learn, this can be related to their position or something they are passionate about. From there I support them in learning more about that or help them obtain certifications so they can expand their current skillset.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Geraldine Convento, I am an author and I own multiple businesses, mostly centered around passions I developed in my youth as well as partnerships with other entrepreneurs that need a technology platform or strategies to expand their business. I use these streams of income paired with my love for connection with others and self-care to build a life of freedom and flexibility. Freedom and success look different to everyone. I also have a podcast called, “3 Pillars of Success” where I interview people of all walks of life about their personal definition of success.
From the outside looking in you can say, I’m a marketer, youtube personality, author, web developer, rapper or other labels and they would all be accurate… However, I describe myself as a resourceful person that has found a way to live life to the fullest and still have peace of mind.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Communication can make or break relationships, business partnerships, deals, projects and more. Most of us aren’t trained to process trauma nor have the best communication skills as we go through life. I am passionate about communication and also helping people see where they can feel more empowered and expressed with their words.
When did you last change your mind about something important?
When I was 42 years old I thought my life was pretty much going to be the same for every year thereafter. Same relationship, living in the same location, same interpersonal dynamics with people in my life. None of it was bad, there were just some events that made me realize that I needed to make some major pivots in my life. I ended a long-term relationship, moved to another state, and everything in my life expanded. It made me realize that planning things to the tee isn’t always the way the universe wants you to go.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
I work in the marketing industry and there are SO MANY professionals that have “the way to scale your business” and they only do it that one way. Whether it be lead generation, ads, etc. the biggest lie is that a templated system or formula will always produce results. I’ve had so many clients invest their money in these things with no return. Every business is different. The target audiences, stage of business, revenues… From my experience, there has always been a certain level of customization and tweaks to be made to campaigns to achieve results.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace in the middle of the day when I’m alone. Doing my mobility practice, meditation, laying on my Bemer PEMF machine, or cooking a meal. There’s something about that time of day and doing one of those things that makes me feel like everything will be okay no matter what is going on.
