At fifty everything broke open. Cancer, divorce, homelessness, broken wrist— the tidy script I’d imagined dissolved and left me with a quieter, harder truth: a nine-to-five life felt like a cage. I moved to the mountains because I wanted days that felt like breaths, not paychecks. There was a small, human forgetting — a moment when survival blurred into habit — and then I remembered. I started doing the work that makes my chest light, the work I will likely carry until my legs no longer let me. I do it for the children and the animals — the ones who are silenced, ignored, or simply not heard — because they deserve someone who will listen and act.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s never a smooth road opening up a new business
I learned with every new client I get what to put on the service agreement
In the eight years that I’ve been open, I would have to say my service agreement has changed about 20 times
The hardest thing to deal with are the people
The animals are the best and always look forward to seeing me
