Meet Ryan Wooderson of Revo Denver Physiotherapy & Sports Performance

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Wooderson.

Hi Ryan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’d been practicing since 2012 and grew tired of how I was required to treat patients and use my skill set in private practices or hospital-based clinics. I wanted to treat people the way they deserved and in a way that utilized the full depth & breadth of my knowledge. Not only that, I wanted to build a system with as few barriers to care, and with as many styles of providers as possible – basically the antithesis of our country’s healthcare system. I still believe this is the best way to deliver healthcare of any type – primary care to rehab – with as few barriers as possible and in the most comprehensive way.
I started by pulling a massage table out of a closet at a buddy’s gym in the Golden Triangle. Zero flash or fancy. I would work there on my day off and Saturdays to build a clientele. After leaving my full-time job, some long-time friends/colleagues from Boulder reached out to see if I wanted to partner with them in building Revo Denver. The rest is history!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been interesting, that’s for sure! Looking back, the journey has been smoother than it felt at the time. The biggest struggle has been personal growth. Anyone who has been doing entrepreneurship long enough will tell you that one of the biggest limiters to their business can be themselves. Personal growth can be hard and pretty uncomfortable, but once you begin to embrace it as part of the business, the road isn’t as bumpy as it once might’ve seemed. The growth that comes along with owning a business is actually pretty fun and freeing, for the most part.

We’ve been impressed with Revo Denver Physiotherapy & Sports Performance, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We’re the second Revo, with the mothership being in Boulder. They opened in 2015 and we opened in 2023. We’re really just tech nerds with physical therapy degrees. We leverage technology heavily in our practice. We believe that what gets measured gets managed, so we measure as specifically as possible, as often as possible. Our technology allows us to deliver a much more detailed experience, moving patients/clients toward their goals with more precision and efficiency. We see quite a lot of endurance athletes – runners & cyclists – but we work with the typical “Colorado athlete” who wants to do all the things in all the seasons, whether that’s MTB, trail running, skiing, boarding, hockey, CrossFit, etc.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I’m a pretty open book, but I would say that being in front of people and helping solve their problems makes me come alive. I love it. I love the human puzzles that I get to piece together on a daily basis. It’s fun for me to dig deep into the athlete and find out what makes them tick, what’s truly important to them. Once we can highlight that (often to their own surprise), patients are so dialed it’s incredible to watch them grow.
