An Inspired Chat with Jessie Fliss of Park Hill

Jessie Fliss shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Jessie, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: When was the last time you felt true joy?
This time last week, I was in Peru hiking the Salkantay Trail up to Machu Picchu. 5 days of 60+ miles, hiking in all weather conditions (snow, sleet, rain, sun), freezing nights and a group of ten of us that cheered each other on the whole way.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi everyone!
I’m Jessie, Artist Extraordinare at Colorfur Designs, a custom pet portrait business. My paintings are hand painted from images/pictures- there is nothing digital or AI- generated about them. Just the old fashion way of creation with paints and brushes. I’m excited to share that I will be a vendor at Goldens in Golden in February and am working on a bunch of golden goodies!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I took jazz and tap dance classes as a child and really believed I had a future in dance. Let’s just say my moves (today) mirror Elaine from Seinfeld. I wish I could give the child version of myself a huge high five for her effort!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Continue to be yourself, despite whatever anybody else says or thinks. People are either going to love you or hate you. Just keep it up, you’ll find your people.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Oh yes, it’s very real. I am the absolute most transparent person… to a fault. What you see is what you get- whether that is professionally, personally, public or private. I can’t tell you if that’s a good thing or not, but it’s certainly real.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace after I’ve hiking and climbed an amazing summit, painting to great tunes with natural sunlight coming through the window and having my 10 year-old golden retriever laying on the floor nearby.
