Brittnee Brooks’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Brittnee Brooks. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Brittnee, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are everything—and they tend to look a little different depending on which town I’m in, since I commute weekly between Denver and Colorado Springs. I’ll admit, I’m not the quickest riser (still working on that morning-person thing), but once the day gets rolling, it’s game on. Whether it’s giving my corgi all the morning kisses, grabbing a smoothie or chai to kick things off with some energy, or taking a few quiet moments to reflect on the stoke of the day ahead, those first 90 minutes always set the tone.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Brittnee Brooks — a Colorado-based host, storyteller, and all-around hype woman in the world of outdoor and action sports. From emceeing with Warren Miller Entertainment and hosting for MTN TV to supporting the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee and The Snow League, I’m passionate about creating connection through stories, energy, and community. Whether I’m behind a mic, on camera, or bringing the stoke to an event, my goal is always to inspire others — especially women of color — to take up space, chase adventure, and lead with heart.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Someone who saw me clearly before I ever saw myself is my mentor in broadcasting, Laura Okmin. She’s been my biggest cheerleader, truth-teller, and soul guide since the early days when I was just this eager, stoked, wide-eyed version of myself trying to figure it all out. Before I had any idea what could be possible for me — she did. Laura has poured so much love, honesty, and belief into me through every late-night talk, piece of feedback, and giant hug. She’s taught me how to stand tall in every room I walk into, and I can only hope to make others feel seen the way she’s made me feel. She’s one of the most special humans in my world — full of heart, power, and the kind of magic that changes people.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There’ve been plenty of times I’ve almost tapped out — and honestly, some days I still have to shake that thought off. This industry can test you, especially as a woman carving space in a world that wasn’t exactly built for us. But every time I think about walking away, that gut feeling — the same one I’ve had since I was that wild, loud, dream-chasing high school kid — pulls me right back in. That spark never dies. The love I have for storytelling and connecting with people has never once felt off or out of place. That’s how I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. It’s not always easy — but it’s electric, it’s worth it, and it’s where I want and need to be.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie my industry tells itself is that there’s only room for a few voices at the top — especially when those voices don’t fit the traditional mold. That you have to look a certain way, sound a certain way, or come from a certain background to belong. As a woman, and a woman of color, I’ve heard those unspoken rules loud and clear — and I love proving to myself and others with my similar background that the already written narrative isn’t the one written path. The more we open the door for new voices, new faces, and new perspectives, the stronger and more exciting this industry becomes. I’m here to keep kicking that door wide open — not just for me, but for everyone who’s ever been told they don’t fit.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
The times I feel most at peace are the simple ones — coming home after a long, fulfilling day to a good meal, my corgi Butters snuggled up next to me, and a crime show or thriller on the TV (because nothing says “relaxing” like a little chaos on screen, right?). And honestly, my peak peace era is fall — hands down. The crisp air, the cozy layers, the Halloween vibes — it’s my season of magic. There’s just something about it that feels like a deep exhale for my soul.
