We recently had the chance to connect with Alex Acosta and have shared our conversation below.
Alex, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My son. He is the reason why I do all of this in the first place. He’s my biggest blessing and motivation daily. Seeing him have the childhood that I’ve always wanted, makes me happy.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Alex Acosta. I’m currently 32 years younger than young! I was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and raised in Los Angeles, California. Throughout my life, I have consistently been drawn to art, fascinated by the colors, images, and the ability to bring my imagination to life. Additionally, I have always been motivated to undertake new projects and challenges. I thrive in environments where I stay busy. As my brand has evolved over the years, I have also developed an interest in cryptocurrency and brokerage services. Now that I have a son, my goal is to inspire him to pursue his dreams and establish a legacy for him to inherit. My brand prioritizes giving back to the community through charitable initiatives, including fundraising and toy drives, often in collaboration with my motorcycle association.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My mentors. Too numerous to name but at a young age coming out of high school, I’m glad I got involved with the right people. They have helped me out significantly to this day. Not only in the work field but also helped me develop and see the world differently. Taught me that as long as the sun keeps shining there’s always opportunity to be better.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
That’s a deep and beautiful question.
Suffering teaches things success rarely can like humility, patience, empathy, and the art of finding meaning in pain. It strips away illusion and ego, showing what truly matters. In suffering, you learn how fragile you are and how strong you can become.
Success often speaks in applause; suffering whispers in silence. And in that silence, you learn to listen to yourself, to others, to life itself.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
If I could choose one cultural value to protect at all costs, it would be dignity the belief that every person, regardless of origin, status, or circumstance, deserves to be treated with inherent respect.Dignity is the root from which empathy, justice, and community grow. Without it, even progress becomes hollow. With it, even disagreement can remain humane. It’s the value that holds space for both individuality and belonging the quiet thread that keeps our shared humanity intact.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
That’s a powerful question and a tough one…
To give everything your best, even without praise, means doing things out of integrity rather than for validation. It’s choosing to be excellent because that’s who you are, not because someone’s watching. It’s rare, but it’s also the kind of strength that quietly builds character the kind that doesn’t need an audience.
But it’s also human to want recognition. Everyone needs to feel seen sometimes. So maybe the real balance is this…give your best because it feels right, but don’t shame yourself for wishing someone noticed. Both instincts are honest.
