Ramon, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What battle are you avoiding?
Creator’s block. I’m really trying to broaden my creative repertoire that way when it feels like I’m hitting a wall with one, I have other’s to lean on which eventually lead me back to the one I hit a wall with and I am able to overcome it
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an aspiring Creative Director/Cinematographer with background in Photography. I was primarily focused on photography up until 2023 where I really decided to commit to cinematography. I fell in love with the technical details of filmmaking and movies as well as the storytelling aspect of films. I aspire to create my own full length film in the future as well as shooting cinematic commercials for my dream brands. I am currently working on my senior thesis short film for school and am excited to share my vision with everyone!
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Being stationed in Japan definitely opened my eyes to how much the world has to offer as well as how much culture and knowledge there is to be gained outside of the states.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I would say in the beginning of 2024 where I had started to regularly see a therapist. I then translated my newfound knowledge into my creative projects/visions and was surprised to see my peers show so much love and support for it
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
I believe it’s the highlights of me and my life. I would say that public version of me is both me and not me because the public only sees a fraction of my life and the work I put in. So in a sense its not wholly me but I do portray who I genuinely am to the public.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes. With my cinematography for example, I genuinely enjoy making my videos and projects and I enjoy the process of making it. The praise is just the cherry on top for me and doesn’t affect how much effort I put into my projects
